Today I heard that someone liked Marmite and Cheese Sandwiches, this naturally got me thinking what odd fillings the trickery people have in their sandwiches. I don't want plain and boring fillings! I want to know your dirty secret recipes! :)

I wouldn't say marmite and cheese is particularly weird.

Now that is weird sandwich filling. Do you still eat it now or did you grow out of it?

Not wierd I guess, but lovely: ripe avocado spread onto one piece of crusty bread, with a layer of cheddar on top, then mayo, then button mushrooms, spring onion, cherry tomatos, with some english mustard spread on the other piece of bread. Maybe some crushed chili sprinkled on it.

Avocado must be the best sandwich ingredient ever.

when my other half was pregnant she, only for one night, ate lime doritos with strawberry muller yogurt :P think that she made about 3 sandwiches containing that then went to sleep. when she woke in the morning she had lost her craving for it and has never got it back.

My all time fav filling is:

Peanutbutter (not the smooth kind cause its sucks)

with

pickled gherkins dills whatever

Theres just one problem with this country.....THEY SEEM TO PUT SUGAR IN EVERY SINGLE DIFFERENT VARIATION OF THEM.....

Sorry had to get that out my system....if anyone knows a make of pickled gherkins without any sugar in it...please...put me outa my missery and let me know :)

Hotel2Tango

Its easy to buy pre-spiced pickling vinegar, I havent seen 'raw' gerkins for sale though.

yeah thats the problem.... i guess i could drain a jar or the sugared stuff and use a different vinegar....or i could just live with it...its just annoying to see 50 jars of the same product all with sugar :/.

I like marmite, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, cheese and crisps. The problem is that I can never manage to fit everything between the bread before it becomes impossible to eat, so end up forfeiting some ingredients. It's still lush thou :D
