Anyone happen to know any bookstores that do student discounts? :naughty: I know waterstones do a smallish one. Perhaps this would have been better in the uni and careers forum.

EDIT: Oh yeah. . . might be helpful if i mentioned i was in glasgow, but i suppose if its a big bookshop it'll be in glasgow :)

Ta muchly in advance :)

Try second hand books shops. No student-discount but they are often a lot cheaper than normal shops. Or use a library.

Waterstone's don't do a discount. At least, the branch I worked at didn't.

WHSmith did a discount for a few months.

Don't really know of anywhere else. HMV sell a few books.

The only student discount you'll find these days are breif temp affairs. Borders , waterstones, wh smith and john smith have all did various variations on save when you spend a certain amaount., 10% off a certain day and stuff like that. I'd be surprised to see any of them still running I know ours ( waterstones ) isnt any more.

It's really not worth the shops while any more to do a student discount :D

Depends on the books you're after too, Waterstone's runs a permanent 3 for 2 offer on bestselling paperbacks...

The Waterstones on campus has the discount to end all discounts: £2 off when you spend over £30. (Birmingham btw)

Heh. It was mainly my course books + a c# book for myself :P. I went into waterstones and they said they no longer did the discounty thing. :(

Sheesh, no more discounts, train tickets at full adult price.

So much hate :(

amazon is probably the best. free delivery if you spend over £19 too..which is usually below the price of a good computer book.
