Mintys MMA Match of the Month!

Ok Ive decided that on a monthly basis, Im going to start ripping the best fights from various MMA promotions TV appearances. It will be one fight only, not full events.

For this first month, Im going with the most recent UFC event, UFC 49: Unfinished Business. This match is between "The Iceman" Chuck Liddell and Vernon "Tiger" White. This is a grudge match that has been going for years. The two were supposed to fight a long time ago, but Liddells people pulled him from the fight due to a minor injury. White decided to take the route of slagging off Liddell at any available oppurtunity, and saying he was ducking him. Liddell has never ducked any fight in his life, and he certainly wouldnt have ducked White. However this was shaping up to be a good fight between two kickboxing experts, with White having the edge on the ground, coming from Ken Shamrocks Lions Den.

The fight will only be live for the next month. Once the month is up, this video will be deleted and a new video will be put up. Probably from Pride next time around.

Good plan. I might be able to do the same if i clear some webspace, although a torrent system might be feasible. I'm short of events atm, as most of my stuff was on my now-dead hdd.

Well actually, Im about to purchase some webspace so I can have a few running. All I need is a domain name. I want something that suggests its an MMA website based in the UK. So far, the suggestions (Bothmy own, and from other people) have been:

Plus Id imagine the community will slowly build up. people are starting to take notice of what were discussing here, and Im doing things like this video, and the previous "Why do i watch MMA" video so that we can raise a bit of interest in it :)

Heh I downloaded that and started watching it, till I realised I've already downloaded 49 and watched it a few times. Still, cracking fight.

Plenty more to come Bishi. Just stick around :) Next time Ill probably have something from Pride: High Octane (Silva vs Jackson seems a good bet :)) or UFC 50:The War of 04 (Nothing on the card particularly stands out, but you usually get some fantastic matches during the prelims)

Yeah, Ive got Ken Shamrock vs Tito Ortiz, and Ken Shamrock vs Kimo.

The Ortiz fight is a damned good fight, but theres a lot of ground work involved, and if youre not sure whats going on, it can seem quite boring. The Kimo match is a stand up fight, but very short.

Right, I am uploading Kimo Leopoldo vs Ken Shamrock now. Unfortunately, this is not the greatest fight in the history of Mixed Martial Arts, and it does feature that utter f*cknut, Tito Ortiz, on commentary, but you guys wanted it so here it comes :P

EDIT - I dont know about other people but I prefer most of the bout with the fighters on their feet. You can see them analysing their opponents next move and its very fast paced, plus when they get knocked out you get that satisfying crash to the floor mat :E Dont get me wrong though some floor work is good as I'm starting to see what each fighter is trying to do.

Oh and by the way Lungers; I used to say Kimo was shit, until I saw him slim down to 220 lbs and take on a 350 lb giant called Paul Varelans and won. Dont get me wrong, Kimo looked half dead when the match ended, but Varelans had to carried out. If I can find it, I might upload it. Was a very good match.

Went round a mates after the pub and saw the natural vs the iceman. I was really surprised at the outcome. I don't know what UFC it was but I never expected randy to be dominant standing up (which he was) was a cracking fight. I'd say if you've got that one minty host it!

I've only flicked thorough it to check its the real fight and it is. Just under 2 Hours long!!! Ultimate knockdowns is nearly finished too :)
