Heard some rumours and it was just on the radio that there may be a multiplayer and possible co-op mode for San Andreas???
Can anyone confirm or deny this vicious rumour?

They took it out, the best you'll get is MTA I believe.

Multi Theft Auto, a privately developed mod. It was shit for GTA3 and VC, don't get your hopes up.

I'm talking console here :P

No then, going by the latest I've heard :)
Yea, no MP for SA definitely. Definitely maybe for the next game.
Shame because multi would rock in a sort of massively multiplayer type environment. You log on and off by going into garage but city continues whilst you aren't there :D

No point yet since only 3 people have a PS2 network adapter. I would guess a network connection will be an intergral part of the PS3 though.
the "new" ps2 has a built in network port
Not sure quite how GTA would work as multiplayer other than using the tired old modes like DM or CTF which are (imho) already available on better and more suitable platforms, like BF1942/HL/Q3/RTCW/UT etc etc

Talking about PC really. Consoles are a bit of a joke as far as internet gaming goes at the moment. Subscriptions? fuck off! :-)

Don't you think much much larger maps but with say 150-300 players "living" in that city so they can come out and do stuff just like in the normal game whenever they want in the living city would be great? :) You'd have to change the hospital and jail thing a bit though - perhaps if you get run down you have to wait for ambulance to arrive, take you to hospital then get your fixed up in A&E then you can restart, similar thing for police etc - wait for paddy wagon to arrive and cart you off etc, perhaps a fine or something.
When you are done playing for the day you go back to your hideout and logoff? I think that would be great.

There is no subscription for PS2 online. Like I said only 4 (;)) people have it though.
Some sort of MMORPG type of GTA would be great. You'd join gangs and fight for territory rob banks steal cars etc.
Something similar has been mentioned as a Syndicate sequal for years.

They're apparantly making a new version of MTA which is supposed to be a lot better somehow.

You mean one where you don't suddenly find yourself thrown out of your car by someone stealing it on the other side of the map because the server neglected to tell the clients that you stole it 10 minutes previously?
Just to let you all know that there is a multiplayer mode. :)
Not an online multiplayer mode but still there is one.

[spoiler:0b7185bad1]The two-player game in particular is deceptive fun. Available in several different flavors, this multiplayer aspect never splits the screen at all. Instead, it enables player two to press start when CJ stands on designated icons to activate an overhead camera that tracks both characters (the second of which is usually one of Carl's girlfriends). Once underway, the new player can equip armor, steal cars, drive, and target just as CJ can, and can create some pretty satisfying destruction at that. The only real snag is that players have to stay within a certain distance of each to keep from being halted in their forward movement -- but in practice, it's really no big deal.[/spoiler:0b7185bad1]

Also if u press select it focus's on one character but then the one out of shot cat move.
Also there are some 2 player missions u can unlock ( assuming u can find them too ) such as a motorike mission so i hear

indeed the new ps2 slimline has integral network adapter and has the ability to be hooked int oa wireless network, and i belive there is a multiplayer on SA, if you go to gamefaqs.com and look at the cheats they mention a red pickup that enables another player to come in, altho i dont know how reliable there source is i thought it worth mentioning
You stand on it (its on your girlfriends door step) and click in the right thumbstick witha 2nd pad plugged in. Its not really a cheat as its part of the game :P
