My housemate got his delivered under the moniker Gary Lineker :)

Btw if you want more than one per household you just need to put a flat number in on the walkers site and keep the rest of the address the same.

maybe he has long strides

he'd still take 14 steps though... would he not ? :geek:

blurr
05-Nov-2004, 23:16
well no... if he took a really big stride, it maybe equal to say a short person taking two...

cuthbert
05-Nov-2004, 23:19
yeh, but it would still count as 14 steps, just big ones.

it's just like saying 'which is heavier, a tonne of feathers, or a tonne of lead?'

both are the same - a tonne.

blurr - the pedometer works as it's basically a counter that ticks over whenever you take a step. The tick over occurs when you jog the pedometer hard enough for it to register. This isn't foolproof obviously, but it does mean that it doenst matter how long your strides are it only counts once for each step. If your pedometer doesn't work properly change where you wear it and experiment until it's right. I find having it on my front pocket works well.

ok just found out average person does 3000-4000 steps a day.

They recommend everyone doing 10000 steps a day.

In just a morning I do over 7000 steps lol. So i do double the walking an average person does all day in about 4-5 hours

Free peadometer - I imagine something like the detectors in Ghostbusters where the little arms go up with light on when a nonce is in the vicinity.
