Maybe.
You not going Lake District with Eth?
My attendance at any VDC will be dependant on my rota.
I just wish I could be bothered to check it. I thought I could, just then, but I really couldn't.
I just looked at the monitor with a pained expression mouthing the letters Cee Bee Ai.
Maybe.

Gra...it's not one of those new-fangled "hip" pubs with MTV and leather sofas...I'm afraid the seating leaves much to be desired, you might want to bring a folding sun lounger for that home from home feeling.
Oh and while they do take luncheon vouchers, they only take them for a couple of rounds before they realise you are taking the piss.
what do I need to put in the destination for the train... 'Victoria Street Station' ?

that gives me 3 hours of drinking (coke) time, ooh but I could stay over night at a friend of mine, but then I'll probably have work the next day, mind you it'll only cost me £15 return! decisions decisions!

Q-Target
03-Dec-2004, 12:17
Blurr, you mean one of us reveals ourself to be Santa Claus at some point in the evening?
In order for a secret santa system to work we'd need a couple of things neither of which is especially practical:
1) A definitive list of attendees and whether they are partaking
2) A method of secretly attributing someone to each person
So, while it would be just lovely to do that, I don't think it is workable...unless we do it when we get there and everyone gets 5 mins to go and get something highly inappropriate from the plethora of shops at the station.
Or we could stab the person who thought of it in the eye? :)
You may of guessed i am not a big fan of secret santa
Bah Humbug :)

Q-Target
07-Dec-2004, 12:33
I know that Brighton to Victoria return is £12.50 off-peak as they have a special price for that particular journey...you may find it's the same for other journeys into London from elsewhere. If you check prices online you won't get the specials, as Jim says (and it is rare that Jim even approaches anything close to useful in the posts department), go to the station and ask.

No. that announcement was a broad proposal. The dept heads have until March to decide where and when they'll make the cuts that Mark Thompson has asked for.
Anyway my dept should be relatively safe, though I still have the problem of what to do in May (when my attachment in this dept is due to end) as my 'real' job is with BBC Broadcast (separate subsidiary company) and it looks like they're gonna be sold the same way BBC Technology was.

Basicly Docklands light railway to Bank and then tube from Monument to Victoria
Hmm I can't find London Victoria anywhere on the tube map...
Is it called "Royal Victoria"? any idea what line I need to be on to get there?!
EDIT: found it, gotta get the circle line all the way to Victoria, its just after Westminster!

lol @ your bumpkinism...you must suck at Mornington Crescent.
...its just after Westminster!
It's also on the Victoria line. The one that's an entire line called Victoria. That goes through Victoria station.
So anyways, Im taking the National Express down it would seem. Travel Centre in the station was closed today, so no chance of cheapey tickets for trains... so 4 hours down, 4 hours back. However, as Gra kindly pointed out from his sofa, it is 3 hours on the train anyway... and the coach goes straight into Victoria as opposed to Kings Cross, thus saving dicking about on the tube. Im gonna leave at the same time Eth is leaving York on the train in a Race Around the World type affair. First one in Spoons, and necking Q-Target or a pint, wins all!*
*A pint? You on Eth?
I told you you should've got your tickets earlier!

I was thinking of going to that Lamorghini garage at Kensington and seeing if I could blag entry, pretend im a pop star or soemthing, and have a 3 hour sit in a Mucialago (sp?) or just wander round Knightsbridge or something... anyone got any better ideas?
Make a "Golf Sale ->" placard and make yourself useful at a major intersection...or perhaps a "Hitler had a point" placard in Bethnal Green.
well if I can get an earlier train, ie 12pm, then I maybe able to meet up with you, but I'm guessing there maybe charges incurred, as I purchased a super dooper advance cheapest ticket there was.

Not in London. You have to pay for that down here.

Daddy, why can't you talk?
Because son, COUGH COUGH RECH COUGH COUGH COUGH, I'm RECH COUGH not feeling well. COUGH COUGH COUGH.

Yeah - £35. Its expensive being a retard
I maybe out too... just found out that my Grandma isn't too well... and well my Mum isn't too happy. Doesn't help that her dad passed away last week either, just seems to be one thing after another :|
I don't really want to leave my Mum on her own, shes taken the day off work so she can phone Malaysia every couple of hours to see whats the news on her Mum, as lastnight shes just been admitted to hospital with a uriney infection (or something) and it doesn't help matters that all the nurses there speak Malay and my Grandma only speaks Cantonese!
Bah - Average age of this thing is taking a beating here.

Wheres the totty?
If you'd been there you would have seen it...sadly you'll just have to make do with whatever freaks of nature I see fit to post here.
That is a midget rather than a dwarf. Rare these days as it can usualy be cured with groth hormone when it's spoted. All the Munchkins in the Wizard of Oz were midgets rather than dwarfs...
EDIT: Top Tip don't go googling for the word midget at work, apart from the cars they seem to be in great demand....
Sort me aaart wiv sum claaart
Aye, Dwarfs suffer from Dwarfism. This makes them have big ears, wear mining helmets and whistle whilst they work.
