windows update prob...

im trying to get one of the updates (non-critical) but after i agree to the liscence its just sits there doing feck all,i updated the critical stuff thru autoupdate and that worked fine,but for some reason cant get it to work thru IE.Any1 have any ideas?

tried doing it manually?

grab the title of the patch and go over to download.microsoft.com and shove it in the search box. Download the correct update for you OS and run it manually.

Post the error you get :)

it should tell you the number of the update, like Q876543 or something like that, make a note of this then search for it on the microsoft site and download it and install it yourself.

i have no idea why it is not working through the Windows Update service though :/

Sometimes that doesn't help tho' - sometimes it fails 'caus it feels like it, it seems - even if you *do* try and manually download + install it. Gah.

I've just been over to the Microsoft update site and all i can get when it scans for available updates is "Windows Update Error". C'mon Billy you tosspot, sort out ya software. :!:

Did you disable active scripting to prevent IE hacks?

Been in and out of Windows Update all day patching up a machine .. 100meg of patches after SP one goes on :/
