no not the plant :o
I was going through some of my stuff sorting it out today and came across several old copies of Mandrake going back to version 8.1. If anyone wishes to try Linux I might be willing to send it to them. I have version 8.1, 8.2, 9.0 and 9.1.

All the main distros are good, it really just depends on what you want to do, your knowledge level and how much time you want to invest
eh...knowledge level -5....just ask Moron :D

Trouble with SUSE is while I agree its a good distro, they have just been bought up by Novel so their strategy may change in the future.

The SUSE buyout can only bring more good things to the marketplace

Lets hope so but they could go the way of RH and enterprise. But your right if they stay true to Linux. SUSE themselves have put a lot into Linux and have even given code back to the kernel.

SUSE has always existed as more of an enterprise scale linux anyway, so I'm sure with Novell's backing keeping an updated consumer product won't be difficult
