Got a brilliant regen midfielder, he's like Lampard mark II and he's only 22. Lots of clubs sniffing around him making bids, and he is worth about 20m at the moment. Noticed he had a minimum release fee clause of 14m in his contract so offered him a new one to remove it.

But did I remove it ? noooo... in my haste I set it to £0 which led to half the prem bidding £0 for him and me being forced to accept it ! Decided to revert to my last save to fix my error, lost 2 hours of play and my entire pre-season :(

Morale of the story = minimum relase fee clauses are evil.

When i first played champ season 99/00 i had no idea what a minimum relase fee clause was so i just gave all my players one as they accepted a new contract with it.

I can never manage in Spain, I hate HAVING to give my players them. They make me uneasy, even if I make the fee a stupid amount of money.

FS just lost my only left sided defender (only position I don't have any cover) now after not noticing the release clause.

Offered the fucker 80k pw to stay and he signs for mid table Liverpool for 45k pw....

Can't sign anyone to register in time for CL final stages either :(

Yeah why have they NEVER managed to fix the AI on player transfers?

In any version of this game I have always had people turn me down for clubs 10 places below me. Now this in itself isn't so bad as maybe they have a great reputation etc. but when they sign for half the wage I offered that really pisses me off.

Had that once with Lucio, was gonna get him dirt cheap as Bayern were in shedloads of debt, but he decided to join Barcelona for 30kpw less and I'd just won the CL twice in a row. I already had several good DCs but I'm not convinced that the game would take that into account when I offer him key player.

Speaking of Lucio, he is 36 and is still a genius and I have found he can play on left side of defence well !

i had a few teams chasing xabi alonso on my liverpool game. his contract has a £20mill minimum fee from the start. so as soon as teams started getting interested i offered him a new one, coz me an extra £5k a week but worth it.

I had a similar thing with Lional Morgan.
Im in 09/10 with my Torquay team. His contract was expiring at the end of the season. I had an offer of 1.4m from Boro, I declined it. A few days later he agrees to go to Ipswich on a bosman :(. Especially annoying as they are in the bottom 1/3rd of the Championship, and im in the top 5 with the season ending. So I lost out on doubling the amount of money my club had doh :/
