I've got a problem with my Photoshop, only started happening in the past couple of weeks, when I mask a layer, then brush onto the mask to make parts of it disspear, there's still a faint line at the "edge" of the image:

As you can see in the layers pallete that area is totally black (100% fill & opacity brush) and i've even tried marqueeing the area and filling it, with the same results. Anyone got any ideas what's causing it? A fix is to use the eraser tool, but that sort of undermines the point in masking the thing...

1. Close photoshop
2. Hold down Ctrl + Alt + Shift
3. While holding down the above, launch photoshop

The above will reset photoshop to default and any inherited malarkey will be binned. See if that fixes it.

You have AIDS

Edit: perhaps more usefully...this sort of thing is normally associated with an Anti-alias box being ticked...somewhere. It'll be in the tool settings...somewhere.
