Now the wife has destroyed my roccat kaves (which were decent tbh) im in the market for some new ones.

Will more than likely be getting one of those new x boxes when they come out so the ability to use it on that will be a brucy bonus

Wired or Wireless not fussy tbh, dont spent multiple days at the pc anymore.

Price wise, will go upto �100 - 150 at a push, tax rebate in so treating myself.

Been having a read about and the reviews are all over tbh,

A new type of 3D imaging

Instead of megapixel cameras, this rig uses just four 1-pixel image sensors. The University of Glasgow team reckon this could slash the cost of this sort of imaging technique..

Details of the discovery appear in the report 3D Computational Imaging With Single-Pixel Detectors, published in the Science journal.

Research assistant Matthew Edgar, who contributed to the paper, said: 'A more portable version of the system could be created quite easily, making it much more practical to use outside the lab.

'It could be used to look for the tell-tale gases which leak from the ground where oil can be found, for example, or it could be tuned into the terahertz range to probe just below the skin to search for tumours or other medical conditions.'

The technology is in its early stages and commercial partners are being sought to help develop it.

Lead author Baoqing Sun said: 'This means that single-pixel detectors which cost just a few pounds each are now capable of producing images across a far wider spectrum than 3D imaging systems currently on the market which cost tens of thousands of pounds.'

Got hit in the windscreen by a rock yesterday - boo

Company car - yay

New windscreen fitted this morning at home, so nothing to do for 2 hours but play APB on the 'puter - yay

Set off for work at 11:45 - boo

After a few miles, noticed a bad "bifocal" effect on the bottom 2/3 inches of the screen...basically, anything in the bottom of the screen looks like it's bending in toward me and I can't tell where the nearside corner of the car is on tight windy lanes (damn those fences).

Take it back to them and they tell me it's so bad they'll have to replace the screen again. It needs to "sit" in the car for 5 days however, otherwise the gunk won't have cured, and this shit will be everywhere.

By this time it's 12:30, which will make it after 2:00 by the time I reach Lincoln, and seeing as I leave at 4:00 the boss decided it wasn't worth the trip, so gave me the rest of the day off - yay

Back home on APB :)

Poor Nigel. Came up here to sunny Edinburgh and-SHOCK HORROR-a few students noise him up on the basis that his party is, well, a bit racist. Nigel gets upset and latterly retorts by labelling the protesters 'fascist scum'. :)

My, how we laughed.

Later still, and Nigel is interviewed by Beeb radio and hangs up after sensing 'hostility'.

What a twat. :)

Bit of shameless promotion for a band I really like here, as theyre currently running a kickstarter for their new album here which is already immensely over their target and Ive backed for $25.

Anamanaguchi are a band that make pop, punk and dance music using a mixture of hacked Nintendo Gameboys and a full band. Theyre best known for doing the soundtrack for the Scott Pilgrim vs The World movie. Heres a couple of tracks from them:

Pitfalls of buying a house

I'm looking to buy my first home, and have seen something I will be making an offer on tomorrow. I know that there will be a LOT to do, and I would like to make it as painless as possible.

For those of you who have already gone through the process... what are the main pitfalls to watch out for? Or things you would keep in mind? :x

Mionix mice-anyone tried 'em?

I'm just about at the point where I can-finally-get myself a new gaming rig. I've got a pretty firm idea of what's going in the box itself, but peripherals are a different matter.

I always used to be a Logitech man for both kbs & mice, but now I'm also looking elsewhere. Thus far I'm reckoning on the Gigabyte Osmium as the no.1 keyboard contender;

as far as my mouse goes, not such an easy decision.

It has to be 'dual-role', ie. I've no residual ambitions to be a pro gamer :P so I need one that'll work for everything, all day, but still be satisfying & comfortable to use in FPS and strategy games (never play MMOs, really).

So, the Mionix Naos 8200 then? Any thoughts? Anyone got anything better?
