He didn't lose his job over it per se but did leave.

I dunno - when the fuss dies down several hundred thousand people will still know who Lauren Wainwright is which can only be a good thing for her - and her articles are very well suited to the mainstream.

She just needs to brazen it out for the incoming fortnight of internet nerd rage.

Blimey, talk about making things difficult for yourself! Her work's not going to worth a lot in the foreseeable future, she's going to have to back track and clear things up but the damage has been done.
