Sony Bravia internet tv

I am thinking of getting an Sony Bravia KDL40CX523 to replace an old 32"flat screen in the living room, has any one got a internet Bravia and if so do you rate it?

From what I've seen current Sony TVs are pretty good, but Samsung are the class leaders.

I've got an internet bravia. To be honest I only use the wifi to stream stuff from my pc/ps3 to it.

It has all kinds of funky apps that I've never used so couldn't comment on them. With Sony reducing their TV lineup you may well be able to get a deal, if not, as above get a Samsung.

Having spent a week looking around at tv's im a bit dissapointed tbh.
Almost every tv you look at is "HD READY" and goes on to give the spec of how clean and clear the picture is but when you look at the built in freeview tuner its only an SD version?
I know im not looking at top of the range sets but ffs most people will be watching ordinary tv for the majority of the time and would be a pisser to only get SD freeview!

Look for something which says "FULL HD" instead. Then make sure a HD source is being played. SD programmes being played on HD tvs wont look great.

imo the only downside to the samsung smart tv side is the remote for typing, i've installed but not tried the phone app yet though to see if it comes up with a keyboard - did a bit of reading the other day though and not found any ref of the tvs accept any 3rd party usb wifi keyboards, i thought i found one but then users said that model was a bit crappy on the battery life - i use a pc for t'internet anyway, foad facebook, it doesn't belong on a tv

Like myself, I can't imagine many people on here are going to do much typing on the telly. The apps I use mainly are the media picker, iplayer, vimeo sometimes. The only typing I ever bother with on the telly is the odd bit of postcode in google maps.
