I had that the other week, refused to turn on whether docked or undocked. Left it charging for a couple of hours and it seemed fine after that. Not had it happen since.

Not to worry you fella, but double check that vibration thing (mine does it on the dock more now (next to the touch pad)) and I presumed that this not turning on was part and parcel of it and we most prolly had one from the same batch..

I've also been having issues last week with movies playing for 10 mins than going all fuzzy on the left...

Then last night I put up the sound to 15 then it drops straight away without a sound... untill I go to desktop then play an mp3 then open the movie again....

Both these errors occured before and after a reset last night (just to rule out a software fault) so I presume all these things (refusing to turn on/ movie faults/ sound problem) are connected....

Will give it a try - the one thing that might be different is that I rarely let the dock run down, which I'll do now.

Mines been collected by UPS. It was on its "I'm refusing to turn on mode" when I packed it up.

Then I get home from work and the free GPS dongle is waiting on the doormat!!!!!

Hmmmm....I know what you mean now - if it had been a laptop I'd have assumed it was the disk spinning and I would have assumed it was the texture of the casing as I ran my finger over it had you not brought it up. I unplugged it and the vibration stopped. Better keep my eye on this

Yeah there's a registration on the asus site somewhere - they issued all owners a freebie to make up for poor gps signal. THe dongle looks like the keyboard hinge and plugs in the arse of the tab.

Well according to UPS it was with ASUS for 2 hours and it's on it's way back to me now?. When I sent it off it wouldn't even switch on, so hopefully they had the same and just sent me a new one.... fingers crossed I don't have the same old shit when it's returned...

I'll letcha know how mine comes back, if the buzzing has stopped on mine on return I'd say RMA yours too fella. It can't be doing the thing much good and you have suffered the not turn on thing....which I'm sure is connected.

Any issues with not turning on after charging from Inertia , Mr O , Ruddles?

Only once. It went a bit spazzy but I docked and undocked and charged it undocked and then it sprang to life. It had run flat before that so not sure if that was a factor.

No issues with it not turning on, no. I've had the youtube app force the thing to reboot a few times, but other than that no issues.

Sorry to post this here, but I've been looking to get a tablet for a while and I'm not interested in Apple. Have seen an Asus TF300 32gb with keyboard for £399. Is it worth looking at, or are there better options out there??

Thanks for that mate, the only reason I'm having second thoughts is I found out today that the TF700 is out next month, so I don't no if I should wait for that??

The 700 is quite a beast but perhaps crucially it has 3G support which would be frequently useful on the prime, even with phone tethering.

New firmware last night - might want to lob it on to see if any of the softer stuff goes away. Also recommend stripping out all widgets for a while - some of them are so badly made.

New Firmware on. Looks like bug fixes and face unlock. Fingers crossed.... all seems ok so far...

Had a few quid left over from Christmas, and got a few more for Fathers Day, so went out and bought the ASUS TF300. Not had a chance to do much on it yet, but hope it's as good as the ASUS tablets you guy's have been raving about.

Mine keeps losing its WiFi connection, anyone else seen this? Says the router's out of range, even when it's touching the damn thing.

Have to either reset the WiFi adapter or reboot the device to get it back

Apparently that came in in the last firm ware. They are testing a version that fixes that and transfer rates between internal and external memory too.

FYI I went down the self service route on the floppy hinge problem detailed here - was indeed easy and quick and is now good as new. The only addition I'd make to the instructions is to not entirely remove the strip - just pull the ends up and leave it anchored - and if possible have a little bit of paper glue on hand just to reaffix the strip where the gum comes away. You want very low strength glue.

My pops is in the market for a new laptop - a friend of his mentioned these to him, and he seems quite keen. He's willing to spend about £450.

Would that see him right for a good one of these?

He has no experience of updating things, troubleshooting etc. Will one of these offer that? Are they all 10.1" screens? Lastly, are there any (physical) shops that stock it so that he can see it to see if the screen size is ok?
