I said at the time that I didn't. I have now developed one.

If ARMA2 goes on Steam Sale this summer I'll be getting it for this mod. I might pick it up in the next few days anyway.

Man this is tense. I've just managed to get hold of a water bottle, taking down 2 zombies with a hatchet in the process. I'm now however in the danger zone for food, so I'll have to risk a populated area soon. I'm down to about 5000 blood, and I've only made it from Electro to Prigo, having been completely turned around once, thinking I was still heading north until I hit the beach. This mod is damn good.

i had a short session with Rainy yesterday. Our PTG camp got raided (they took very little), and so we went on a scavenging mission to see if we could find their camp and get our stuff back. We went on search for over an hour or so, and then the last set of coordinates we set in, POW! we found 4 vehicles hidden away and about 8 tents. We called everyone in to our location to get things.

There were so many guns, food, wheels etc it was a field day. So, we packed up everything worthwhile, maybe taking over 200 items, and head off. Although we did make sure we run over their tents as we left

We went away and all met up somewhere stood around well off map, and some cheeky bastard seemed to have followed us somehow and sniped Rainy lol

Great game, has to be said. Was going to join the hospital raid yesterday afternoon, but the bloody map waypoints stopped working for some reason. Followed some power lines (north rather than south!), and came across a town. Blessing in disguise really, as it allowed me to fill the water bottles up (now have 5) so am pretty much self-sufficient for roaming at the moment, and grab some barbed wire. Not sure what use it will be yet - maybe a player trap. Currently camped in a wood just north of Chernogorsk.

depending on what server you play on, some disable waypoints on maps. Also you should never get confused which way you are going, as you can tell by looking at the sky, and if the clouds go from west to east, youre heading north

good to see rainy on the PTG mumble, saw ashen briefly too, get on there!

I was on PTG server, and the clouds weren't moving! The WPs are weird - yesterday they didn't work, and a re-log fixed them, then I logged off, back on and they didn't work again, so I re-logged, and didn't fix it. No idea why.

Ah yeh, good thought. I've turned shadows off though under advice from (Toast? I think it was) as you can see players more easily.

I lost my lovely AK-74 Cobra easy come easy go I guess, shame the little shit that hit us was server hopping Shot 2 of us then instantly logged off, he then came back 2 minutes later in a different position trying to outflank everyone. It's now a fecking long hike back to paradise though.

I've had a couple of odd instances on servers like that mate. Sometimes the server time and client times seem out of sync or the weather gets stuck in a persistent state while for others its changing OK. For what the mods own author calls a nasty hack job to get most of the stuff working on an engine it was never designed for it's some of the best fun I've had online in years.

Awwwww I am heading to Stary Sobor again (logged off about 3km away). If I find a gun I will save it for you, hopefully when I drop my gun this time it won't sink into the ground and disappear

he has a whole range of guns to choose from when he camps up with us later. I am hoping as requested, that m00se will pick me up from where you died yesterday. After all we did find a lot of loot I might convince him to swing by and get you if possible. depends how busy server is i guess.

There seems to be a view (rumour?) that since the mod has increased sales so substantially for Arma II, the mod guy might be given access to the source code, which should help no end! Also, the PTG guys were saying that DayZ is only 20% complete - there will be skill trees and specialisations etc. to come. Could turn out to be a great MMO-like!

We just got shown the camp and i logged on after the server restart to hear Toast get taken down, then m00se then i hit the ground in the camp laying still only to be shot by a silenced m4

Lost me AKM with 300 rounds and g17 with 100 rounds in (if it ever comes to the apocalype i will be tooled up to the fucking nines )


Then subsequently on the respawn closest back to camp found Ashen and Rainy, we made our way north to see Homer had found an abandoned Pickup and was driving round like a loon honking his horn running over zombles.

We carry on further north and raid Zenogorsk supermarket. only for us to get to the treeline after and be picked off by a sniper

Then respawn again and make my way solo north found our old dead bodies but only had a map to loot. made my way through the forrest to the camp to log out, this was roughly 2 hours after i had originally died lol


Its even more humourous that we spent the prevous hours raiding the airstrip and Vybor with the stealth ability of a warehouse rave causing so much noise, zombie aggro, and death and we were totally fine. I'm suprised people on the other side of the map didnt know we were there - even had Homer run round with a flare for a bit only for us to get to a 'safe' camp and be blown to shit

He is a Bohemia interactive employee who is now getting paid to work on it full time - I doubt there has ever been a source code issue

I plan on trying to find you guys over the next few nights, depending on how long it is until I starve to death. Solo is good fun but I can't really raid anywhere useful as i only have a hatchet and harsh language to use as a weapon.
