Beta Weekend Event 3: 20th-22nd July

Announced along with the release date was the final BWE! This should include a lot of performance improvements to the game client as the content should now be pretty much finalised. Also keep an eye out for the Beta end event as it could end up being pretty special

Aye the mesmer does need alot of work.
I only played mes BWE1 and the Illusions were awful! Next to no use at all, barring mobs being close to them so you could shatter and that sometimes didnt work.

Stayed clear of it since then tbh, wasnt keen on the play style of it all anyway. And the armour just looked awful imo.

Been reading the team paradigm forums, they have some belting articles on there and are very clued up on it all.
They actually beat the dev in team 5v5, so shows the nerd power is strong in them lot haha.

Poor buggers. Shame most of their guides will be out of date in BW3 when the significant balance and skill changes hit.

Most classes got a lot of balancing, buffing and nerfing before the 2nd BWE.

BW3 is suppose to be more significant changes, kinda like the talent tree revamp in WoW.

Its also going to let us play as the Asura and Sylvari for the first time! I had actually hoped to put some effort into trying out the classes I havent played as yet in WvWvW but new content means that idea is gone

Oh, worth mentioning as well that the gem shop will be fully functional this weekend, meaning that you can pay real money for items in the shop. Any gems you purchase this weekend will also be reimbursed when the game goes live.

We already have a guild. EG set one up in the first weekend and they (and your characters) persist between all the beta events. Doesnt matter too much though because you can join as many guilds as you like, you just have to switch between them to choose which one youre representing at that moment in time.

Well im well and truly stuck with what char to play on launch.

Liking most of them so far,

Theif - Have to say, gone off thief this time around. Far too squishy regardless of the shadow stepping, multiple mobs and its hard graft to survive. 1 on 1 they really shine, an absolute nightmare for any clothy.
But its rare you come into 1 on 1 situations, having to play hit and run wasnt my thing tbh.

Engineer, Same with this class, pistols are very good but gets boring really quickly. The condition damage off them is really good.
Bombs for me are just not viable, brilliant for a line of defence but chasing someone down is a complete nightmare.
Just felt lacking, couldnt put my finger on it tbh.

Elementalist - Pure ranged damage machines, so far the class that easily pumps out the most damage. Had a ball playing this, really enjoyed it.
Very squishy, but a good few survival skills helps you tenfold. Very rare anything gets time to get near you anyway.

Warrior - Charge in and slash away, must say hundred blades so far is an instant I win button, stun > hundred blades = death. Can honestly see this being nerfed. 350+ damage @ lvl 5 from it a tad ott.
Other than that a really enjoyable class, love the armour sets aswell!

Guardian - Meatshield, again one of my fav classes so far, these feel very well done. The mix between being able to soak up hits and hold your own is ace.
Yet to try any pvp on this guy.

So stuck! Ele, Guardian, Warrior, Necro - god knows what to choose?!

Yeah Im stuck too. Ive tried Warrior, Elementalist, Guardian, Necromancer and Ranger so far, but only really eliminated Ranger as my launch class (And thats only because the pets die too often)

Have to say though, Im LOVING the Asura start zone. I thought the Human area was pretty, but holy fuck!

Played engineer up to around lvl 5 or 6. It was ok, but I think I prefer ele.
