Starting going the gym 3 times a week recently (morning before work) and doing Starting Strength.
I've always been skinny. Never been any more than 11st. Been getting lots of food (high in protein) in me recently and am finally putting on some weight. I'm at about 11st 6lbs now. Not quite sure how comfortable I am with the bulking/cutting as I can begin to see the belly getting a bit bigger. Current lifts for future reference: Squat: 62.5kg Bench: 55kg Standing press: 40kg Bent row: 40kg Deadlift: 50kg Hopefully see them shoot up quite quickly. I agreed to do it as a bit of a drunken bet at a friend's wedding. I'm not especially fit yet and found it incredibly hard going. Made it to the end though so fairly pleased particularly when people in my heat were still making their way round 30 mins after I finished. |

Best time of the week to go the gym is 6.30 on a Monday morning - wakes you up and your body has had two days off instead of one so you're more rested.
Latest numbers: (All barbell sets of 5) Squat: 70kg Bench: 60kg Deadlift: 70kg Press: 45kg Bent Row: 45kg I sleep in the world's shittest bed which has been causing me slight lower back pain which has probably held me back a bit. Going to try sleeping on the floor from now on. |

Day 2 of my diet change and its already killing me!
Big push to drop to 10%bf tho. Yesterdays food and water intake. Meal 1 (Wake 6am) 50g Protein Shake, 30g Plain Peanuts Meal 2 (9am) 250g Chicken breast, small portion of rice noodles (50/80g). Meal 3 (Dinner) As Above Meal 4 (3pm) 50g Shake, 30g Nuts @Gym (5pm) (2 scoops BCAA powder in 2ltrs water) 30 mins cardio after Post Gym (6.30pm) 50g Shake, small bowl of Cereal (Fast acting Carbs) Meal 5 (7.30pm) 400g Lamb Chops (Fat off), Veg Meal 6 (Before Bed) 50g Protein Shake /w milk not water Oh and 5ltrs of water throughout the day. Pee'ing like a fckin racehorse! |

Aye it's that routine but with cleans replaced with rows. Haven't progressed too well on certain things because I have a bit of lower back pain (need to check my form as that might be a cause).
Also not been fully embracing the nutrition i.e. 4000+ calories a day (eating about 3000 with ~180g protein) as I'm not entirely comfortable with putting on a lot of fat (don't mind a bit). If I was I think the gains would probably be even more. |

I've begun trying to get fit.
I'm 11 n a half stone (5'3) and can't run a mile none stop at the moment. It's been something I've been meaning to tackle for a while starting with trying to eat better and just exercising in general. First goal is to be able to actually jog a mile without having to slow to a walk. starting off with 20 mins of cardio 4 times a week with a mile jog/walk outdoors.

Nice one; I'm going to try to supplement my weight lifting with 5km runs 2-3 times a week. I'm terribly unfit also :{
I'd suggest experimenting with running really early in the morning (6-7am) at least once or twice. I've never been a morning person but the only way I can guarantee I'll get exercise done is if I do it straight away in the morning. |

I've been doing a fair bit of cycling recently but i've also been eating alot and i've got a bit fat for the first time in my life, and it all goes on the belly.
So a week ago I started a bit of a diet (smaller portions, less shit, less carbs, more protein and more veg) and started running again. So now that's cycling, running and gym for weights. Will hopefully see it go in a few weeks, but fuck me running is so much harder than cycling!
