We have tickets for the 4 x 400m final, hope they make it. If there's a better Olympic story than a man with no legs winning, I'd like to see it.

They did some research into this and discovered that he used 25% less oxygen for the same running... however 400m is such a short enough distance that it's all anaerobic exercise and therefore that's not an advantage.

It's all an interesting discussion, but given that his fastest time (a world record for paralympic athletes) is 2s slower than the able-bodied equivalent... I guess he's still not as good.

STOP GETTING PAUL McCARTNEY TO CLOSE SHOWS!!!!

It puts a damper on the whole evening....he stopped being "rock n' roll" in the 60's.

Some really cracking parts to the opening ceremony. The industrial rings were great, the mash up of music , film and tv as well. The thought that Iran and Saudi Arabia will have televised a the lesbian kiss from Brookside, makes me giggle.

Currently praising channel 585 on virgin. Beach Volleyball lol

They were , hardly any help at all in trying to peg back the breakaway. If they had the 9(?) guys they did at the worlds they might have , but only having 4 + Cav and only the odd stint by someone else it was a very difficult one and too much for them to do on their own which was a shame.
