I just picked up this on steam, I've always loved 4x Space stratergy games so I'd thought I'd give this a bash. I'm quite impressed. The cinematic take on the ship combat is particularly cool.

I got it this morning heh. Fun so far, still learning the ropes. It's pretty , getting to grips with it so far. Really reminds me of some of the old games I used to love , stuff like Ascendancy .

Will play about more tomorrow! Havent got the knack of designing a new ship though! :o

I've been playing this since the beta and it is very good. All the races are completely different and the way the tech tree is laid out is refreshing too. The AI is a little predictable though, so if anyone wants a trickery mulitplayer game post in here

Got my first game finished, enjoyed it muchly!

I've got a reasonable handle on most things, took me a while to suss the ship building and upgrading bit. As I'd been deleting my old templates , that then didnt let me upgrade those ships , you have to modify the existing template with new kit , then you can upgrade - is that right?

It could do with a Civ style ingame encyclopaedia or some better tool tips as there's a few thing's that aren't easily explained.

Trade routes - still havent worked these out - is this only for dealing with other species rather than internal trade?

Yes, trade routes are only used as part of the diplomacy system.
