No, not the game

Been in today for an op on my left foot. All my toes except the big one have been dislocated for years due to the joints being eroded by Rheumatoid and Psoratic Arthritis, and I've' just been walking on bone. Had to have all the metatarsal joints removed, and the big toe needed straightening and fusing in place. I've now got metal rods right down every toe, cant come out for 6 weeks, and screws and a plate in the big toe. When the rods come out, the toes will just be floppy

Anyway, think it's going to be a long night

Not had much sleep, and since the pain block has worn off, the pain is a bitch. Still a little sickly from the anesthetic. On the up side the surgeon has said it's a 3 to 4 month recovery, so no work for a while. Thanks again

I stubbed the first two toes on my foot this morning - hurt so much I couldn't actually make a sound. Couldn't look at it for ages - convinced i'd broken them - it seems not but fuck me does it hurt.

With respect, stubbing your toe is not in the same league as dislocating them due to arthritis.

have you been told what to expect with floppy toes cs? i always thought the lil'un was unexpectedly important for balance too. i guess even putting socks on may be odd as your toes misbehave and even doing your shoes up. fingers crossed it's only a short term annoyance and you soon adjust

Had loads of trouble with socks due to the foot being badly deformed, at first all the toes besides the big toe were going to the left, and I had a big v shaped gap between the big toe and the rest of them. But over time the big toe went the same and closed the gap I ended up getting shoes made by the hospital, but they were very uncomfortable. Cant get shoes on, and can only get trainers that are a few sizes to big. the surgeon has said it will be a struggle with socks from now on with the toes being floppy, but still got the rods in for at least 6 weeks.

As there is no cure, and none of the medication has worked for me, this fucking thing is just destroying my body. My hands are going the same way as my foot, my left knee is fucked, need a shoulder replacement on the right, but the damaged is to severe so the cant do it, and it's affected my kidneys. Lucky enough I am still in work, but my GP said when I went in for this op, that in her opinion I should not be working any more.

The one thing that does piss me off over this, is my love of games. I cant use a controller any more. And can just about use a mouse, keyboard is not to bad as I only use wasd anyway

One of the specialist's I see told me he is writing to my GP, as he is recommending I go on Oxycontin. I am absolutely crapping myself, I really dont want to start down that road, but Tramadol and others are having no effect.

Dont worry, after starting it you wont be crapping yourself as one of it's side effects is constipation

Couldn't look at it for ages - convinced i'd broken them - it seems not but fuck me does it hurt. __________________ I suppose though it stems back to the mentality/argument that playing FPS games makes people into raging loons that want to take an axe to someones head - therefore our "compassion and respect" for human life is being eroded. I think our "compassion and respect" for human life is a fucking world away from clicking a mouse button.
