Didn't notice if this had been posted before...

Mr Cameron, in an interview with Chris Evans on BBC Radio 2;
"I did an interview with French television yesterday and they virtually accused us of cheating. I think they found the Union Jacks on the Champs-Élysées a bit hard to take."

Hoy said: “I couldn’t believe it. I thought it was joke when I saw the magic wheels comment.
It’s so ironic because the French are the guys who make the wheels for us.”

French have accused us of cheating wholesale, Chinese reckon most of the refs/officials were hopelessly biased towards us

Fuck em. Them and the Russkis with their "late medal charge".

Too little, too late Ivan

This whole "French accusing us of cheating" is just typical media bullshit. I'm sure they're jealous (hell, I'm jealous) of the success, but I haven't read a quote in context that suggests anything other than mild bewilderment at the phenomenal success of the team.

Haha that's ace.

I agree with Orange, I've got a lot of time for Mo Farrah, he seems like such a likeable bloke who's very down to earth and loving what he's doing.

Same can be said for most of our athletes to be honest!

A decent set of numbers regarding the BBC online streams:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/bbcintern...eam_stats.html

On the busiest day, the BBC delivered 2.8 petabytes, with the peak traffic moment occurring when Bradley Wiggins won Gold and we shifted 700 Gb/s.

Paralympians are doing bloody well, better tally than Beijing already, and still time for more

I find it difficult to take the Paralympics seriously given the fairly confusing number of categories (for a casual observer), athletes tackling multiple disciplines and the huge world record breakers. Very pleased they're getting recognition for a lot of had work, although I expect they wouldn't appreciate that sentiment.

In many respects it's like "athletics of old". More about taking part than anything else, journey of self-discovery and all that

I'm not sure I'd have given much of a shit about "old athletics" then, although I don't think Roger Bannister was one for the taking part.

I also don't think top Paralympians care much bout taking part either, certainly not if that cyclist's reaction to disqualification is anything to go by.

Jochen Wollmert. "Sportsman" of the year. Overruling the judge to give a point back to our lad, and the way he consoled the GB chap after beating him to the gold medal. What kind of a world is it where the Germans can teach us about sportsmanlike behaviour.

As he said, he's spent 4 years of his life training hard for this only for a fault with the clamp on the official equipment to ruin all that hard work, he was rightfully angry and upset but he also apologised to everyone, including the crowd, a few minutes later.

I think the Paralympics has been every bit, if not more, fascinating and enjoyable than the actual Olympics were. I just have a nasty feeling that once they're gone so will any interest and coverage of paralympic sport. It would be amazing if Sky, on the back of all this interest and coverage we've watched were to add a "Parasport" channel

It's not for me to tell someone what they can't enjoy, but I haven't found it in any way compelling. The depth of competition is much lower, evidenced by some of the margins of victory, the laughable attempt to fix the outcome of the H1-3 women's road race, David Weir winning across dramatically different distances and Vergeer's 469 match unbeaten record. That largely reflects the competitiveness of the sport and the regularity of competition, but it's a poor substitute for the Olympics. All that being said, I appear to be in a minority of 1....

The Olympics were unbelievable and it makes me a little sad to think we'll never experience anything like it again
