Looking a lot better than Stallone's abortion, though that isn't hard. I'm undecided on the guy playing the lead, i think he's too young to portray him, he doesn't seem to have the gravitas required and the LawMasters aren't quite what they should be, I still want to see it though.

No guarantees - especially given the words 3D in the title which normally implies total shit but...

...liking the idea of dropping the scene-flitting, history bending scale of the first film and going down to the street to focus on the cits. The best stories in Dredd were never the epics imo - but the likes of Graveyard Shift, America and PJ Maybe's arcs. Stuff where you meet and get to know the judges and perps alike. This looks far closer to my cup of tea than the last movie.

They've fucked the helmet up again though.

Dont have high hopes for this one.

Karl Urban is a good actor, but does apear in a few really shit films! This looks like it could be another Priest

Priest, if it had been based on the ORIGINAL STORYLINE AND CHARACTERS could've been awesome. Funny thing though, Black Hat, Urban's character, is the GOOD GUY character design in the original material. And NO VAMPIRES, instead it was demons.

sorry just noticed this. In what way? Looks like the helmet from the late 70's early 80's to me

Many slightly different styles to the helmet depending on the artist. Its not as round as as the first Mike Mahon one.

Well that's sort of what I mean - they've urbanised pretty much everything else about the original, flamboyant look of MC1 and the Judges that I'd have been interested to see them work a more functional, even different looking helmet.

Anyone seen it yet, i saw it last weekend and thought they had pretty much nailed it. Though it was obvious the budget didnt stretch to much sci fi special effects like hover cars and droids.

Saw it tonight. Not what I expected, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The 3D was absolutely amazing in places and completely lacklustre in others.

Still haven't seen this yet, was swithering over the Blu Ray the other week though...

Perhaps the apparent lack of enthusiasm extends farther than just me, as figures are pretty crap all round for this, to the extent that about the only chance you're getting for any sort of sequel is the comic variety..

Ended up getting on 3D Bluray and I did enjoy it, a very good take on Dredd and possibly could become a cult film, shame it didn't make more of a box office splash.

Focused a little too heavily on the "support" character for me although I did like Karl Urban as Dredd and would have loved to have seen more of the world.

It's a shame we didn't get the chance to explore the world a little more.

I didn't find Urban very convincing at all, which is quite a big drawback and it just didn't feel like Mega City One to me. There are the odd nice touches, but over all lacking atmosphere. Keeping much of the film within the block helped, but the opening scenes were lacking.
