Released into the wild in June, pretty soon there'll be nowhere to hide.

There are some proper lol comments on that. As in "lol, I can't believe that anyone thinks you aren't employed by Onlive"

Well from most of the reviews and previews I have read about the service even after a year of tweaking most users are stuck with a 150-200 ping. Playing things like a FPS is horrid, you press a key for forward and have to wait half a second before you actually move on the screen. Also in one of eurogamers tech reviews about 6 months ago they used onlive for 2 hours of straight gaming and managed to download just over 3.5 gigs of data. Try selling that too most of the UK stuck on a 30gig per month allowance

Haven't been keeping up with this, but was looking forward to seeing what it could do. Damn shame.

Maybe in a few years time.

Mate.. you're messing up storage and networking...

5 megabits per second = 5000 Kilobits per second. It's a classic mistake/bad habit.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megabits

It's to do with the Kilo term, in data transmission it means 1000, in storage it means 1024.

As for the technology, I can't see the point.

REMOTELY RENDERED HD STREAMING VIDEO IN LATENCY SHOCKER. Rendering overheads won't suddenly go into the minus figures no matter how many years you give it. That Steve Perlman blokeis 100% full of shit. It amazes me how people like that manage to talk people out of so much investment when the technology is predicated on a provably unworkable model.

Even writedowns and layoffs by that man are 90% marketing claptrap and 10% action.
