AA weapons for MAXs are default and can be swapped at any time. However, some of their functions are improved via certs, or at least they will be.

AA in general is completely borked. Last patch changed some of the mechanics are broke the effectiveness of AA turrets, which has left Liberators kings of the sky.

Performance will be resolved over the coming months. So hang in there folks.

Lungboy, are you using your old PS1 account? If so, you might find that you can get in even if you haven't got the email. Log in and check you SOE subscriptions.

Played again today, performance seems a lot better today. Still a little laggy in some parts but generally ok. Looking forward to some proper squad action.

I'm just not that bothered.
the gfx don't look as good
you spam for ages with your gun and frankly, it just feels like laser tag with results you're not sure about. yes i've killed things but unless you have a max you're pretty much stuffed on close assault.
as there is no squad support yet for most players it's basically, spawn, shoot, die, repeat unless you're stuck in the wrong spawn location.
so far....really not too interested. the graphics on the in-game demos I've seen are very good

I don't know what MAX suit you're looking at but TR only get chainguns and grenade launchers as default.

Squad support has been in for ages. I was in a squad yesterday with some random guys, did a 12 man galaxy combat drop and took the base. I do agree about the GFX though, I have it running on max and it still looks a bit washy, However this also keeps the frame rate nice and high in the middle of a 400 player battle. You said you spam with your gun? Do you mean spray and pray or the bullets don't do much damage? I found the guns to be pretty decent. even the starter ones. Takes about quarter of a clip to take a normal soldier down. MAX units take more obviously but attack them from the back and they go down quite quick.

Get your self in a squad mate and use the in game voice comms, it's pointless playing without those 2. The game is a lot better when rolling with a squad that know what there doing, They are walking spawn points.

Fire off an email to SOE support. It seems a few have the same issue and the only official word is to contact support. Probably won't get you anywhere but worth a shot for the sake of a 5 minute email.

woulda thoguht the gfx wont change much as they would need performance for clusterfuck situations rather than ultra pretty but kills your compute rwith more than 10 people onscreen

Well John "I'm a cunt" Smeddly did say that PS2 would not run on it's ULTRA settings with current hardware as it's a game that he hopes will be around for a few good years and the hardware will need time to catch up with the game engine. So that either means he was talking out of his arse (which is very possible) or the beta is running in a cut down GFX state.

I think LOTRO did similar with it's beta years ago. Had lower res textures etc. then when the game launched it came out with better options. So it's possible. I would prefer them to just have options that do run OK on today's hardware, otherwise you get the people who crank everything up to max and then lag out all over the place but put up with it because it looks good, Kinda. In other words, Console users

Other reason for low res textures in beta is to cut down the download size.

NC Maxs mainly. I can go on in a bit and see what VS have as default weapons. I was pretty sure that TR had 4 weapons to choose from at start. I guess I'm wrong.

Meh, I'll roll an NC toon and have a gander. As I said TR has to buy their AA MAX weapons with one of the ingame resources.

BTW is there a trickery outfit setup on any server/faction? More fun if we're spraying and praying together surely?

EvilGrin, My understanding was that all MAXs come with 4 as standard. There are loads to buy though, but none available via the marketplace.

NC get a shotgun, flamethrower, AA and AV. Which annoys me no end because both infantry weapons are short range.

I thought the TR had a flamethrower, Long range chaingun, AA and AV. Unsure about the VS, but I'll roll one tonight have see what they have.

tried retreiving all accounts from your email addresses ? I know i got several accounts on the same emails because Sony's password retreival system used to not work at all.

I've got 2 accounts on my current email, not on either of them. It could well have been on my UOMail account, but that's long since dead.

They've found my account, but need all sorts of details that i don't know. They want the email addy that the account is on (don't know it), the account name (don't know it), last 4 digits of the card used to pay for the sub (no idea, unless it's the same as my current cc), name and address (no problem). Bugger. Can people in-game see account names of friends?

No I think its all based on Character names. They usually ask for Driving License or a passport photocopy in that sort of situation.

Got access through a key on twitter (from the PS2) account, however I just get an IE page saying that its under maintenance at present, I'm assuming that this is the same for everyone else?
