I am looking at new Gaming rigs...

What's a good outlet these days, I can't be arsed building myself one up, I am looking at Overclockers.co.uk at the moment, Dell Outlet has very little, anyone else that is good and value for money?

bind "F1" "buy deagle"
bind "F2" "buy galilar; buy famas"
bind "F3" "buy ak47; buy m4a1"
bind "F4" "buy awp"

bind "F5" "buy hegrenade"
bind "F6" "buy flashbang"
bind "F7" "buy smokegrenade"
bind "F8" "buy molotov; buy incgrenade"

bind "F9" "buy vest; buy vesthelm"
bind "F10" "buy defuser"

That's the buy script I use to avoid the annoying radial menu. I don't bother with any of the subs, they're rubbish :-)

Sys - your rig can't be far off, as my 4Gb/Core2Quad/6800 runs it fine. Tim - I didn't see you online this am? What's your Steam ID...I presume you're in the trickery group.

I've found the deagle to be a lot less powerful than it used to be... someone took 4 body shots from it last night from me and still didn't keel over. Unless my memory is faulty.

As for the radial menu, the numbers still work - b,4,2; b,5,2;b,6,1 etc. Doz, is the scripting stuff still the same?

I did get a config from a csgo "pro" but it turned out 90% of the commands aren't even recognised, so I have to wonder at their sanity :-)

The buy script was just copied from elsewhere, removing the items I don't use.

cl_interp_ratio "1"
rate "80000"
cl_updaterate "128"
cl_cmdrate "128"
cl_interp "0"

They gave me, but to be honest rate on a lot of servers goes much higher and cmdrate depends on what tick the server is and will auto max at whatever they have set server maximum to.

viewmodel_offset_x "2"
viewmodel_offset_y "4"
viewmodel_offset_z "-2"
cl_viewmodel_shift_left_amt "0"
cl_viewmodel_shift_right_amt "0"
cl_bob_lower_amt "0"
developer "0"
cl_bobcycle "2"
cl_showfps "1"
cl_righthand "1"
cl_bob_lower_amt "0"
cl_bobamt_lat "0"
cl_bobamt_vert "0"

That's supposed to lower the amount your view bobs and adjust where the gun is held slight and stop some annoying arm thing happening when you crouch (I dunno what annoying arm thing, I've had this on since I installed it a week ago).

The rest of the stuff in the cfg came up as not being recognised so I've left it out.

aha, nice one.

Can't believe they still have cmdrate and updaterate still in there!

A lot of people from css and 1.6 are still using a rate of 30,000 which is way off what the servers can handle in this day and age

Sound Card: Asus Xonar DG 5.1 PCI Gaming Sound Card & Headphone Ampifier
Solid State Drives - High Performance System Drive: 120Gb Corsair Force 3 SSD Read 550MB s Write 510MB s
System Drive: *Hard Drive Not Required use SSD Above*
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-S222AB BEBE - 22x DVD Writer

£749.53 inc VAT

That a good price for a modern gaming PC? I can add an i7 for a further £70.00 but I am not sure it is worth it...

p.s. This PC will be also for Planetside 2, I was considering getting the slightly better spec 670 graphics card.

I can't get rid of it from the options, I would be taking it out anyway and using my Soundblaster XFi card, is that a reasonable spec machine for the cost then people?

yeah, the buy mention is a pain in the ass
the AK, I don't mind, it's very powerful and represents a 7.62mm round which should be a different kettle of fish to the M4A1 varient, so that it's less easy to use when spraying but more powerful when you hit? suits me fine
for me the two were more or less interchangable in CSS, not identical but I wouldn't run around desperately looking for an M4 if I was a T or vice versa

I'm capping fools on default. That pump action shotty is a frigging monster on defence!

Russ - cast your eye over the oft recommended cyberpowersystems.co.uk before slapping groats down elsewhere.

It is actually quite a lot of fun. No frills, fast action murder. I've noticed a few peeps using that pump action shotty more than I used to in the old versions. It does seem to be a bit of a killer.

No storage drive? Or do you have one you're transferring? 120 gig ain't much! Otherwise, nice system for the money. Get an good aftermarket fan/cooler and you can easily overclock that CPU by 1ghz, no sweat.

Depends what you're using it for, and if you have a good set of speakers or headphones. If the answer to the latter is 'yes', then a good dedicated soundcard makes a hell of a difference, especially if you listen to a lot of music in lossless/high bitrate/sampling formats. Onboard sound is ok , but sounds really shite through crap transducers, simple as.
