Still getting my FPS issues, in WVWVWVWVWVWVWVWVW last night I was down to 10-15FPS in places

There is some good news in that I'm not the only one complaining about the performance. Seems there are a whole bunch of threads over on GW2Guru about the issues. Knowing I'm not the only one means there is a chance it will get looked at after they have sorted all the issues with the launch.

RE: that geezer who levelled to 80 - there's another reddit post form the dev guy that apologised to the frenchman, as he levelled legitimately to 60, then crafted to 80. So as far as they are concerned, it's not gaming the system.

Might buy this in a week or two.

Having fun so far but this lag is pretty insane right now. Keep getting separated from my buddy >_< Sure it'll be far less frustrating once it calms down a bit.

heh the guild panel shows that I am in the trickery guild but that's all that it shows, cant represent trickery guild or post on the chat, however my elemental can show itself as a member of trickery...

The guild system seems to shit itself whenever the servers hit peak times. I just logged on to try and play a couple of minutes ago and it said I wasnt in a guild, but that I was the guild master of a guild, but that my guild had no members and the upgrades I had queued/completed no longer exist.

Arenanet really have shit the bed on this launch.

Well there were a million pre-orders with approx 50% of that playing headstart. I also know the french and german language relams were full so they've had to increase server capacity there.

Theyve just reopened digital sales and released a new live action trailer to announce it, although Im not really sure what point they are trying to get across or why they decided to make it live action

There are no healers m8, just utility classes. They offer group help via buffs (boons) and small amounts of life ticks etc

Your typical tank healer 3 dps groups are gone now m8, its all about avoidance and buffing each other

There are no utility classes either, there are utility specs/builds. Every profession is capable of providing support or utility rather than being a pure damage dealer. But yeah, tanking and healing is a thing of the past.

As for whether its still fun? Absolutely! Dont think of it as another WoW clone where you have to rush to max level as fast as you can and then get the best gear possible, thus completing the game until new content becomes available. It just doesnt work like that. Think of it more like Skyrim, where you can rush through the story if you want, but you will be missing out on so many features, areas, dynamic events etc that the game has to offer. Take your time with the game and worry about seeing all there is to see and you will enjoy the game a lot more. There are people who have quit already saying there is nothing to do at maximum level, but those people were the ones that just rushed through the game.

As for how long you need to play, its entirely up to you. If you put in about 18 hours a day then of course youre going to get more out of the game than somebody who only puts in 1 hour a day. But there is no gear requirements, no raiding and the PVP is all normalised so everybody is on an equal playing field, the separating factor is skill and experience. Some people have been playing from launch and still havent hit max level yet because theyre taking their time to see everything.

Oh and Arenanet have publically stated that their goal is to release more free content, both in terms of volume and regularity, than paid subscription model MMOs. So well worth a purchase if you ask me.

So far so good, it's a bit complicated though. I don't feel it's leading me through the early levels very well. I was following the quest line and ended up well out of my depth attempting a quest 5 levels above me. I didn't appreciate the need to go and look for the other quest yellow hearty things.
Because I'm not being spoon fed I wonder what else I'm missing. In WoW it led you to class/profession trainers and you couldn't miss them. In GW2 I don't know if I've missed them already or maybe I will be spoon fed eventually?
It is good though, when you're not having it handed to you by a giant wasp!

Been on the past few nights, guild is very quiet tbh. Is it all still going or is it abandon ship time and find greener pastures?

Yeah a lot of the people that were going to come from WoW didnt, mostly because Desolation filled up so quickly. We may end up being better off merging into a different guild.
