your Comtrends are not compatible with your Newlink. Amazon site says that the the Comtrends are not compatible with the Homeplug standard, whilst the Newlink says it is.

So, check compatibilty with the homeplug standard before you buy, e.g. more Newlinks, Develos, or just stick to the Comtrends.

Gonna fuck the comtrends off completely as one has died on me judging by what's happened tonight and from what I've read (Dim red light and no response = dead adapter, very common occurrence) so need 3 new ones altogether.

I ordered the 500mbps at the weekend. They got delivered yesterday at another house, even though someone was in all day, and no note in the door so I should get them tomorrow. Bloody home delivery network

I'll let you know if I have any problems

hey guys, a bit of help please.

I'm moving into an extension on a house owned by a woman (who lives in the other half of the house) and she has wifi. unfortunately her half of the house is massive and she has her bt homehub in her study which is like 4 rooms away from our part of the house, so we can't see if on our wireless devices. if I were to buy her a lan over power adaptor plug thingy and get her to plug in one of the ethernet sockets on the homehub would I just be able to slap one in my half of the house and bobs your uncle? and can you get one that acts like a wifi thing for my one? Do they need any setting up aswel etc?

Cheersfor any help and recommendations for equipment needed.

Yes m8 you can get wireless ones, bit more expensive but work just the same.

Only setup is the initial security setup then its done

you could go ethernet from her router to a plug to another plug in your side attached to another router setup to act like an access point. wifi repeater plugs are also an option.

Very easy to set up and now I'm able to connect to the her super speed countryside internet.

I have 2x belkin hd gigabit Adaptors
I'd prefer rj45 but never mind.
Speed test gives me Internet speeds of. 30 down and. 3 up which is what I pay for
Latency is 45 ish but can be better playing CSS

Anyway a new housemate means a third connection

Do you recommend a 3rd similar adaptor which are quite expensive or 3 matched lower rated items which are brand new
My two second hand units fetch 30 quid on eBay
