The police statement said the gunman used a .45 which had an 8 round clip. I heard he fired 3 shots at the guy he killed, and I'd be very surprised if he had the presence of mind to reload.

A bit of "research" (which is what I should have done before posting) seems to indicate they police use 124 or 147 grain rounds. The 9mm is a bucket of wank to begin with (not that I'd particularly want to be shot with one), but 125 grain bullets are pretty damn light.

Fault on our phone line AGAIN, about the fourth time in the last ten years in this house

Can't use the phone cause of the loud hissing and crackling, and the broadband has gone from 18Meg to 4Meg and keeps disconnecting

Phoned up O2, and apparently they have to run a 2 hour test on our line before they can contact BT Openreach... and then they might not come out until after the bank holiday.

Keep a log of all communications with BT - take names of people you talk to and keep track of downtime. When it's all sorted, ask if they will be compensating you for lost service. If you get no joy, ask to speak to supervisor. Take their name. If no joy, email the CEO with all your documented evidence, names and times. Started robocopying data from an old fileserver to a new NetApp SAN last Sunday, 60gb of data and it took 6 days.

Checked it this morning (was checking it over the week as well and it seemed fine) and this morning there is just one 34kb file which isn't even the last file that was copied, 60gb of data, approx 800,000 files, just vanished!

Not Happy!

Previous robocopy's on larger data sets have gone through fine so fuck knows what's happened here. That's put us a week behind now, I'm not starting the copy again until I have an answer as to where the data has gone.

It was me being a complete fucktard.

I had two robocopys to the same location, one was a mirror the other one a copy, I thought that the mirror was to a subfolder that the copy wasn't affecting, it wasn't, it was mirroring to the root of the drive and every time the mirror started again it wiped the data that had already been copied, this must have been happening all week and we never noticed, hence it looked like it took 6 days to do the copy.
