PC Steering wheels

Thinking of getting one but dont want to spend more than £50 really. Thrustmaster were recommended to me but no clue what to get. Have seen this "Enzo" replica at what looks a steal price here:

http://www.gameseek.co.uk/pd/PCehcuj...-wheel#prodimg

I want a good weighty feel - not too bothered about force feedback as my budget may preclude it anyway. I also want break/accelerate as wheel buttons for when I cba to set up the pedals.

Any ideas?

Logitech Momo Force Feed Back.

Best price I can find is £66 - really you can't go wrong with this wheel. For the extra few quid it makes immense sense. I'm sure you'll get some other recomendations, but the mom is all I've used for the last 2-3 years. It's never going to break, and is very tactile. You run the risk, buy spending less initially, on getting a wheel that feels cheap and nasty and won't stand up to the abuse.

I have the slightly older model in red, but it doesn't have the gear shift stick. Owning this wheel will make you wear a crash helmet and buy a ricardo racing seat to sit in!!

You can read some reviews for a number of wheels here:

Ok but £30 for the Enzo force feedback wheel has got to be a bargain right?

Yeah, had a scout round on some of the reviews. Generally says it's a good wheel for the casual racer. A little fragile feeling compared to some others, the pedal board can shift around a little too easily and if you turn the wheel too quickly you might hear a little grinding as it skips some gears. But for £30 smackers it's a good price.

Be careful, some of the thrustmaster stuff supports both PC and PS2. Force feedback only works for the PS2, nt sure if this wheel falls into that category.

I've never been fond of force feedback on my wheels. Always switched it off when playing GPL, found it hindered me.

That wheel seems decent enough. Momo is by all accounts very good though. Depends how much you want to spend. If you're not a big racing game fan then it's probably a fair decision to go for the cheap and cheerful option.

Aye I am no huge racing fan - plan to thrash about in NFS:MW and enter the GPL league thingy here if I can get the game.

For the likes of me I just think the momo is perhaps wasted - especially for double the price.

You're probably right CB. A wheel will make the world of difference to any driving sim full stop, the rest is mere window dressing .
