"Smart carpet" to detect footsteps
Now, in theory, you might think this is good. But what if you've been out for a night on the sauce, you stagger back to your smart carpet/alarm-equipped home, and start generally slobbing about unsteadily whilst trying to get your shit together to eat/go to the can/go to bed/turn on the tv (in whatever order)?
I foresee problems, unless they include a "user wasted" mode.
