We emptied it before we left the camp..but everything from the two hours we spent driving around is in a watery grave.

The UAZ was cleared i believe, just the extra stuff we picked up along the way was lost.

as an aside wooly got a DMR and he curently has ~500 hp in a hanger in the NW airfield

Ashen did a lovely orbituary to the mighty engine. He did, however, downplay the exact circumstances of the 'incident'.
We were on our merry way from the airfield and on the edges of Starry under the moonlight with me and Ruddles as passengers. Now there is a straight run into Stary but ashen decided a simple 'road' was too pussyass for his mighty beast and decided to go prematurely offroad. ..

at 60 kph

The little vehicle that could then jettisoned off the roadside and a small ledge to park itself neatly 1/3 of the way into a convieniently placed lake. Then started floating off. As all of us cried out in astonishment.
We quickly dismounted and 2-3 seconds later our eyebrows and faces were singed as the whole vehicle burst into a glorius ball of fire, in front of our faces, that lit up he whole of Stary quite effectively. This scene was enchaned by us 3 all running off in different directions screaming.

I tried getting a screengrab of the ascene but arma2 doesnt like printscreen

It was Spanks' NOOOO!!! just before the splash that made me laugh. Well that and Spanks trying to decide if he had time to get some of our loot out, deciding he did, going in for the lootz and almost losing his face when it burst into flame. At which point we all ran off at complete tangents to each other in panic.

All in all a well executed plan.

Well, looks like we had issues with the Vilayer server last night.

Lots of people on the server, people DC'd about 12ish and reconnected and ended up where they were at around 10:30. We restarted the server and everything rolled back vehicles teleported back to where they were previously and everyone lost all their gear etc and went back to where they were an hour and a half before. Then the servers dc'd everyone, after looking at their control panel the servers were showing errors. This seemed to be more than just an issue with our host as when I joined their TeamSpeak there were quite a few people on there all with the same issue.

Raised a support ticket with Vilayer to be told it is a normal DayZ bug and was fobbed off. Eventually got to speak to Lee and to be honest, ended up in the same point as we were before. They weren't interested and put it down to potential comms issues between our server and the hive. They also said that I was the only one reporting issues even though multiple people were in their TeamSpeak earlier on wanting to report the same issue :/

I have also had a support call open with them about BattleEye. We replicated the live scripts from our old DayZ server to the new one and noticed that lots of people that were teleporting vehicles etc were not getting kicked. Checked the script files and they were exact replica's and then checked the log files, hardly anything was being logged. I then ran some scripts against our private hive server to find that I wasn't kicked and it worked. When I raised it with their support I was told that if BattleEye bypasses were used they wouldn't be logged, I had explained (again) that this was done without any of that and didn't get much help. Again when I spoke to lee he checked and the script files had been changed (they were exact replicas on Sunday night) and then basically told me that it was the way I had set it up and its because I "messed" with the config files.

Bit disappointed with the company's attitude to their customers, whenever I have logged an issue the answer is normally a "bug" with the game so it is out of their hands or a user issue and they treat you like an idiot.

I think it is time to look for a VPS/VDS that will satisfy our needs.

Homer: Just remember any VPS we get will need about 2TB a month bandwidth according to the dayz forums. Happy to chip in (actually, I should anyway as it's been ages since I chipped into a trickery kitty).

I've decided that this weekend I will be building a test DayZ server on my server at home. I've read up on it quite a bit and to be honest it sounds very easy. Once I am comfortable with the setup and custom config I will look at recreating it elsewhere for everyone to test

We are coming to the same conclusion tbh. Any glitch in there own systems they always put down to "It's Dayz, it's buggy, deal with it." Dayz is bug ridden yes but when there own control panel fails or the guy setting up our server really fucks it up to the point we had to have a new one with a different IP I don't see how they are Dayz bugs.
