So, back in feb, I took the plunge and bought a new TV - a Samsung UE46D8000. Last year's model, so got a decent(ish) discount.

Then, last week, it popped. First they thought it was the main board, then they found it wasn't that, and thought it was the screen. Then they found it wasn't that, but some part related to the screen, but not actually the screen. I didn't understand it either. This part was no longer available.

Anyway, the long and the short of it is, the local repair guy told Samsung that they need to resolve this, gave me the Samsung service dept. direct number (in Gateshead rather than Turkey). They agreed to replace it with a UE46ES8000. RRP 1900!

The downside is that it will take 14-28 days to arrive. But that's better than going through Richer Sounds, immediately, and them offering me an ES7000 or charging me another 500 quid for the 8000.

Anyway. Fucking minto.

Well - I would have done more with it, but the smarthub wouldn't ever let me create an account. I could browse my PC fine. Any road - 14-28 days for delivery.

Yeh, it was a little app that would stream wirelessly from my mac disk. The other stuff worked ok though. Was overjoyed when I found out that it played MKV natively.
