FTL: Faster than Light

FTL is a spaceship simulation/roguelike. It was funded via kickstarter. The game releases on 14th Sept on Windows, Mac OSX and Linux. It's already listed on Steam, it will also be avalible on GOG and via the developers website.

I've had this for around 3 months because of beta access. Fantastic little game. It cost 10 quid on kickstarter and I've spent just under 30 hours on it according to steam.

Really worth it for that price. If you like Rogue like gameplay and a bit of Star Trek type combat you cant go wrong.

At first I was all like "whhhhaaaat" but then I was all like "fuck you rebel space ship!"

my best score is only 700 or summit and I lost one of my 3 blokes at the start helping some stupid ship!

REALLY good game though.

Anyone know how to teleport crewmembers back aboard your ship? Had an awesome crew and lost 2 guys in an ill-advised away mission when I couldn‘t extricate them.

Shortly after that I ignored the fact I urgently needed more missiles and repairs in favour of buying a shiny new gun, only to then run out of missiles in my next battle - thus rendering new gun impotent and leaving my ship and my crew very much exploded.

i've run out of fuel a few times, out buying the shineys or upgrading things then bam floating in space waiting for the local vultures to come find me

last time it happened though the lovely engi came by and gave me 6 fuel \o/

only unlocked 2 of the extra ships so far, be interesting to see how the stealth prototype thingy flys

Certainly does give you that scifi space captaincy feel (Star Trek, Firefly, etc).

I've unlocked fuck all... I did say to boomer this morning my goal for my sunday gaming sesh is to crack orcs must die on xbox... However FTL looks to be on the cards!

You only need to reach sector 5 to get the Engie Torus Ship unlocked.

teleporter has a 20s cool down effect (reduced with upgrades) - I suspect thats your problem

Nope, it's charged. just i get a red arrow when i try to beam them back to my ship like its an unacceptable destination.

I found a nifty way to put out fires, open the doors and link them to the fire!

My biggest problem is when I get enemies beaming themselves aboard. I rarely have the strength in my crew to kill them off before losing at least 2 of my men and thats even if I fight them in my medbay.

upgrade the doors, enemy come aboard just vent the air, they cant beat down the doors quick enough before they choke /bastard

Your getting the red arrow because your targeting your own ship, try targeting the crew that you want to beam back aboard. When you teleport to an enemy ship you click the destination, when you teleport back home you click the room with the crew members in that you want back.

Ive actually managed to get pretty far in this now. Upgrades are very expensive and enemies I meet are starting to kick my ass. Ive even managed to unlock a Stealth Cruiser or something, cant check what it is because Id have to exit my game and...... I just dont want to

I now have FTL, GW2 and in a months time, XCOM competing for my attention. People are going to forget what I look like

Playing as the Engi Torus craft (easy level!) I can defeat the Rebel Flagship in the first round, but I get totally shredded by all the drone shit in the second round.

Any ideas?
