I had the x10 for the sniper but that was comical when all you get is playing popping in and out of view.

Was sniping last night that kept happening to me, would get a perfect shot lined up and then *pop* they vanished. I did manage to get behind enemy lines and got a 12 kill streak by sniping people around a galaxy

I was doing that last night as it happens with a Night vision scope behind a VS Gal.

Well ive pulled a few Ashen™ moments in this with Hoots last night

1: in a liberator hoots is repairing and inside im not entirely sure which seat im in - bomber or gunner so i let off a round to check. I forget that im on the floor with Hoots outside and proceed to shoot him in the face with a cannon

2: bombing run number 2. im happily laying some seat fire from high in the sky. so i check to zoom in to get a better view. - only this isnt DayZ and the key that i use to zoom in ejects me from the plane and i fall gracefully to my death.

more to come i spose - Hoots was aparently doing quite well in this untill he met me

My KD ended up negative for the night.. you bastard... from 26/16 to 40odd to 50odd.
Those are the breaks though. Need to do some cheeky sniping and tank rolling to bring it back!

Was good fun though mate - thanks for joining.

I don't know if we will be on Chaldene or Thyrone as the main server but I have characters on both so not too bothered either way.

Still can't believe you shot me with an orbital cannon from 2feet away...

What's this like since the last patch? I couldn't get into it at the start, but will have to give it another go. I just hate the new bases, well they're not bases just a collection of buildings. As they have the jet pack now though, having a walled base ain't going to happen. For me though some of the high points were the mass battles of attrition at the entrances and within the corridors of a base. Now I'm just running between capture points and it got boring very quickly.

There has been a lot of work put into making it look pretty. We've finally got high res textures and the graphics on the HUD have been tidied up a lot. The game seems to be running a lot smoother for me too. I've not played for long enough post char-wipe to say about the actual game play.

By removing the Gal spawn, the ground battles are much more important.

The ground battles are very much wars of attrition with huge numbers of tanks and troops on both sides.

The walled bases are tough to get in. you need some good coordination to get the light assault guys over the wall to get the entrance shields down.

What I'm finding is a more organised chaos than PS1 which was just loads of people just piling in with jackhammers blazing.

Give it another go. There's less rushing to control points now.

I see sunderers are spawn points now instead of gals. It's almost like having the old AMS back.

I think the Gal's will have spawn certs too but the cost in certs is loads more or it will be a limited number of spawns.

Ah so they still have walled bases then? I just haven't seen one yet. I read on another forums about the Sunderer now being a spawn (like the old AMS) so that's one of the reasons I want to have another go. It looks like there is more to it that I just didn't spend enough time to see.

There are several smaller bases much like the outposts of old - but they are less generic and can be found in various geographical locations - hilltops, canyons etc etc.
The best rumbles tend to be around the big bases that generate auraxium for your faction. Some are high up in the air promoting aerial attacks, and the large walled bases. There is one that is in the bottom of a meteor strike hole (at least that's what is looks like.
