What it doesnt actually tell you in that story is that a lot of those hacked accounts came from a database hack of the Guild Wars Guru website (For the original game, not GW2) and testing usernames and passwords within GW2. Turns out a lot of people are fucking morons, but then you probably knew that already.

Not sure how, but meh. Don't use that password anywhere else so just changed it. Email address has 2 factor so they aren't getting in.

Heh i changed my password, eventually. It took me 3/4 attempts to get a password that it found acceptable (rest told me that it was already on a compromised list, they werent common passwords at all!). So now my GW2 password is a string of swearwords
