enjoyed that
old school silliness on a dodgy budget
laughed quite a bit and only cringed once....and they redeemed that with some Cat/moose magic

Not as good as i'd hoped, but nowhere near as bad as i'd feared. I'll take that tbh. Just a shame Norman Lovett fell out with them, it was always better when he was in it.

Why does the laughter sound so canned? We know they had a live audience, so why does it sound so bad?

I like the cast etc and setup but what happened to holly

I thought they got rid of norman lovett because they needed a female cast member.

The preview of the upcoming episode seemed to show that they were setting up a new onboard computer so I guess Holly will be explained in that.

I always thought hattie hayridge was a far better foil than norman lovett anyway.

Norman Lovett had a hissy fit because Grant/Naylor called him and said "We are doing a 3 parter for Dave ... keep your diary free". They then called back and said "We don't have the time/budget to fit you into the shows".

Toys exited pram in a spectacular style and he refused to do any further dwarf shows.

To be fair, how expensive is it to stick a bald bloke in a black bodysuit infront of a black backround and film it?

Guess it depends on how much he wants paying, and how much time there is to fit in his jokes into the script.

He knew it'd been commissioned by Dave, and he hasn't done any film/tv work in years. I doubt very much he'd have demanded megabucks. And if you can't make room in a script for Norman "what's happening dudes!" Lovett you are writing it wrong!

The fact that he's been a miserable old turd about the comedy business in general and the red dwarf franchise specifically over the course of his tour and edinburgh appearances probably didn't help his cause.

Thought it was another decent episode tonight. It wasn't side splitting funny or anything but it was definitely in the classic Red Dwarf mold. It did borrow ideas from other episodes (Queeg and the nonsensical oroborus)but didn't rely on them too much and it definitely felt like it was it's own episode.

I don't think it was any better or worse than the first episode but so far so good, really pleased with with it and it's definitely been much better than Series 7 & 8. I really like how they are doing proper 30 minute episodes too even though its airing on channel with adverts.

Next week should be interesting as it looks like they are having a proper on location adventure rather than just dialogue on RD. The Jesus joke in the preview did make me laugh.

Yeah I enjoyed last night a lot more than the first weeks episode, which I found a little tedious-yet-watchable. Like T-Bag, the Jesus line in the next weeks episode preview made me laugh, so definitely looking forward to next weeks now
