Bugger ... seems my exchange now has fibre, as Ophiuchus has got it. However I guess it's because my green box hasn't been upgraded, that I haven't got it yet?

Got told by a BT engineer that my exchange will be enabled early next year even though on infinity site says next December .Gone from a 20mb line to just over 7mb line due to moving

Got onto BT yesterday after noticing another drop in my line speed dropped from my usual 30(ish) dropped to just over 14.

Queue asian technician telling me there is no fault in their system, its my pc, re plug in all the equipment etc...
I spared myself the indignity of replying to the useless cnut, put the phone down and got straight back onto technical help in newcastle (guy who delt with my initial problem)
Straight on the case, couldnt find a problem but send a guy out regardless to check the box.

Come home today to 42down 8 up, note through my door, they found a problem at the box, now fixed all should be well, any more problems get straight back onto him.

Just sent the guy an email now thanking him for his help.

Log on to the bt site with your username and password, there's a setting in there with the off / opt out option mate.

Are people on old Orange and T-Mo contracts getting 4G as part of their existing service if they have a compatible handset? Or are these speed tests, such as Orange's (the person not the service) based on signing up or migrating across to EE??

You can switch your existing if you're on orange or T mobile and on a plan whose cost is comparable to the cost of an EE 4g contract.

Yeah, I've switched over. You have to agree to a new 24 month contract, about which I've written them a moany letter to get back.

That's odd - you should have had the option not to according to their roadmap (and my EE transfer). Sounds like they're up to shady tricks there.

Yep, I was told the same thing when I got my iPhone 5 a couple of months ago. Pretty sure they'll chop off the extra, but in the interests of full disclosure etc etc
