I think the victims need to stop going to the Sun/Dailyfail etc and just go to the police. Trial by media, no matter the crime, is not the way. Should he be found to be a nonce (looks likely) then by all means smear him to the hills and back.

I'm not saying he is innocent of these charges, but being paid isn't justice... Shame all these people didn't come out of the woodwork when he was alive and the other charges were hanging around?

The only reason any of this is being investigated by the police is because of media coverage. The police appear to have repeatedly failed to investigate accusations while he was alive. If the BBC were complicit in that then of course they should be liable.

I hate this blame culture with a vengeance and wish for all the world people took responsibility for there own actions.

Panorama was very good TV last night. In hindsight, some of the things Savile was saying should've had alarm bells ringing back then.

That's no defence, serious allegations would result in a police investigation. It's not like famous people have never been caught out before... I just don't get that kind of attitude. If all you have heard is heresay then fair enough, but some are coming out with stronger accusations than that now. This should have all been out in the courts years ago.

I think you'll find large scale investigations happen all the time without TV shows....
