I had to renew mine a couple of years ago and in my haste I just grabbed the first passport photo I could find from a kitchen draw. A couple of weeks later the DVLA returned it saying my photo was 'not suitable', turns out I'd sent them a photo from the same set I'd used 10 years prior.

In some ways I'm actually glad someone did their job to check the photo. They would have been within their rights to add "you twat" to the letter.

It's to cover wounds that have stopped bleeding you muppet. The kids hate it because it stings so much, I quite like it, great for cuts on your hands, especially around joints where plasters always come off.

Belated rant....

Anyway, shopping last weekend with the misses, she is on a health kick having lost 2 1/2 stone and I have decided to join in and eat more healthily, she has picked up some Quorn fillets. I should have known better as in the past the misses has made Chilli using Quorn mince and I have been ill within hours of eating it both times. It seemed to much of a coincidence that it had happened both times I'd eaten the Quorn mince, and I had never eaten Quorn products since. But anyway, she said I shouldn't eat them, but me being, well, a man, basically said, nah that was probably a one off that happened ages ago, I'll eat them.

Roll forward to Thursday, and after eating a couple of the Quorn fillets with my tea within a few hours I had a headache, nausea, ended up being sick and soon after shitting liquid. Once I'd emptied myself out I felt fine.

So I have googled "Quorn sickness", which led to "Quorn allergy", and it is interesting to see how many people who get the same symptoms, if not worse, when eating Quorn. Turns out it isn't actually made up of mushroom like fungus but a mycoprotein which is apparently a naturally occurring "mould".

Back to eating animal flesh for me

I wasn't going to drop meat, I did it as a one off as part of a healthier diet... I cycle around 45-55 miles a week to and from work, and I lost 3 stone in the first year of doing this, but in the last couple of years have put it back on, so was looking to eat healthier, cut out fried foods, reduce portions, less alcohol etc, not cutting out meat.
