ohhh conflicted. On the one hand , I'd love to see a good Star Wars film make up for the rubbish that was 1 - 3 and with Lucas not being in control that may happen. Then again Disney managed to make a hash of films like Tron and John Carter, both in execution and support. Then again they've also managed to let Marvel get on with it and release some excellent films. Hmmm...

^^ im with ya on that. I tried so hard to like 1-3 , but they really are a pile of shit compared to the others. The only outstanding moments from 1-3 for me were the emporer, he is brill.

disney are far less likely than lucas to attempt to modify a previous classic to add goofy skimming the death star in next month's new new new final better abortion remakes of the originals.

Heard on the radio on the way to work that the first one is out 2015 with the others by 2020. Once 7,8 and 9 are done Disney are expecting a new movie "every couple of years". They likened it to Bond in that it could become a long running mega franchise.

Didnt that cunt Lucas originally say that the Star Wars saga was meant to be in 9 parts? All Disney are doing in that case, is making him get up off his big, beardy arse and do something about it.

Im not a Star Wars fan (Kids film about spaceships and incest. Lightsabers are undoubtedly cool though) but I actually see this as a good thing. Lucas was driving the whole thing into the ground by having the characters appear in adverts for companies like Vodafone and Currys, along with the atrocity that was Star Wars Kinect, amongst other terrible games. Disney are perhaps a little more discerning and may treat the franchise with the respect that the fans are demanding.

Getting up of his arse gave us the prequel trilogy and the 'improved' original trilogy the further he is from the films the fucking better.

It was his LACK of control over the first 3 that made them great as his one man band 'what George says goes' prequel trilogy was just fucking dire tbh.

When I was young I read the timothy zahns trilogy which at the time was classed as the "mostly likely" follow on from ROTJ

Han and leia marry and have twins.
Luke tries to set up the Jedi academy.
Thrawn has taken over the last of the empire and is looking for a lost Sith Lord.
