Ye, no ETA yet Odd there is still a few large things to be added in like the top tier equipment for both teams (onos, Jetpack, Heavy armour etc) but they are progressing well and have added a huge amount since the start of the beta.

they just added a new coder, hes fresh from Blizzard after his work on SC2

hes just started reworking all the AI pathing as his first job.

Very complete - the engine runs like a bat out of hell as well which is nice. Some of the visuals (LOTR style stealth and hive-sight) are literally fucking amazing. I can see why they wanted their own engine for some things.

One especially good moment last night - a protracted marine assault near to our hive, gunfire for ages then all of a sudden one of our skulks chews a power conduit and the whole area is plunged into total darkness bar the blue glow of the res node. There's about 3 seconds of silence (an eternity at the time) whilst every single alien realises they can switch to hive sight and see perfectly and the marines can't. We all do exactly this and a second later it's total chaos again. Teeth and gunfire for about 10 straight seconds then 6 dead marines. Superb.

I spent embarrassingly long on a couple of excellent servers last night - they were very vocal with new players and insisted that rookies take a crack in the alien and marine comm chairs. Good to see.

On a less managed server yeah - teamplay wins every time but the curve isn't quite so brutal as hon (which you need to man up in btw). You can easily spend time as a basic alien or bewildered marine and as long as you eat/shoot something once in a while you're not causing any major harm.

Tons on the face of it - although filtering by performance I'd assume that many aren't dedicated. That being said even filtering incredibly fussily there's still 50 or so under 100ms.

I may be getting this, new rig is almost ready to go, got myself an i5 3300 gtx560 2gig graphics card with 8 gig ram and a nice new hd 22" monitor. first pc I've had built in like 8 years so i'm glad stuff like this is just coming out!
