Arrested under Terrorism act for walking??!!!!

Yep, a woman was walking along a cycle track (tut tut, how naughty) and arrested under the terrorism act(???). So apparantly the cyclists aren't then?? Read the whole story and you'll find it anotehr pathetic situation about the current british terrorism policies. Both the police and the harbour master involved, and the government for bringing about the situation are mental, thick, and should be locked up.

If somebody told me I would be arrested if I walked that way, I would go a different way.

I agree though she shouldnt be arrested under that act.

I could understand her being arrested under the Terrorism Act for trespassing in the Port Authority IF it wasn't already a cycle path that's open to the fricking public.

What does it sodding matter if she is walking or cycling, it is still open to public access. The most she should have charged with is contravening local bylaws.

Yes she is daft for doing after being warned, however the reaction of the port authority was completely over the top, and more so the police for abusing their powers (again, gosh what a non-shocker that is)

Which is the whole point of my rant, not that she went that way, but the fact that a boat with a guy on a mega-phone and two police cars came out to stop her and she was held for hours. All this while cycling through doesn't make you a terrorist??!! And everyone around was laughing at it thinking it was a joke too, because it is!! To be honest, I'm surprised there's even anyone there checking to see if people are walking. If the area is supposed to be so 'secure' then why are cyclists then allowed in the first place. What f**king difference can walking make?!!!!

I presume they will be arresting fuckbag cyclists who ride on the pavements intended for pedestrians then?

Flush with my success at bringing the Muslim Council of Britain, South-West Trains and Blackpool Pleasure Beach to their knees, I feel a stiffly-worded email to keith.berry@forthports.co.uk coming on!

Terrorism is when you do something that the authorities don't like. I don't see any difference in walking down a cycle path or bombing an underground train. At all. Not in the slightest. Nope.

Please do, the last ones were excellent. Better send one to the chief constable of that region as well.

I was thinking of the Procurator Fiscal as well! Might hold off the police one until I'm sure I'm not getting a speeding ticket from that camera van I shot past last Monday

Well, that's another email to be ignored

Quote:
Captain Berry,

It appears that the new definition of terrorism in the 21st Century is "anything that some minor authority figure wants to stop you doing", if my reading of the recent report in the Times newspaper is anything to go by. To stop a woman walking down a cycle path is possibly one of the most petty things I can imagine and to use anti-terror legislation as a means to achieve this just beggars belief.

Would you care to explain why a cyclist poses no threat to the port of Dundee but a pedestrian does? Would you also care to explain why you thought it necessary to waste tax-payers' money by involving yourself, the police and the Tayside Procurator Fiscal's Office in order to stop a woman walking down a path? I emphasise the latter half of that sentence for my own benefit, as I still cannot believe I am reading those words.

God help this country now minor officials have access to this sort of power - it is legislation that is just crying out to be abused and the Dundee Port Authority seems to have done just that in spectacular fashion.

Yours sincerely

Ian Taylor

The woman is an idiot. She was given two warnings to turn around and admitted she ignored both, continuing on her way.

The conclusion, however.. is completely stupid.
The terrorism act? lol... silly.

She should of been fined a cash sum.
Nothing more.

Quite a distance to walk from the Ferry to the Dundee harbour. She's a silly moo though for ignoring the warnings instead of questioning why she couldn't walk the path.

Maybe now she'll buy herself a bike.

Irrespective of how daft the current legislation is in many respects she was warned twice, disregarded that. Tough
