Couldn't give a shit about England, but those that do are going to get hyped up, only for them to come home early yet again.

I'm sure this time will be no different, but at least it's a fresh set of faces (Rooney excepted) from the last 15 years of chronic chokers / under performers.

I think my expectations are a lot lower this time round, so on that basis youthful energy might be a refreshing change.

think you're wrong Eth. Personally dont think Henderson should be playing. Milner has been far better than Henderson this season.

Not normally one to look forward to England tournaments but this team has something special about them that I think could really come through in France. I think taking Rooney is wrong and I would prefer to see Rashford go instead. People say he is too young and inexperienced but so are a lot of the others who will be going. They play with no fear and have had to put up with a lacklustre team playing for the England since 1998.

I'm glad to see Walcott dropped. If only Wenger could see he isn't ever going to be a world beater. Wilshere won't make the final 23 as he'll hurt his ankle before next Tuesday too so that's only 2 fit players Roy has to leave behind.

This is the first time I have hopes England could do something in 18 years.

Rooney will go - he's their captain.

Wenger has realised Walcott isn't going to be a world beater, which is why he's only played 28 games this season, largely as a bit part player either being subbed on or off.

FWIW I think England could do well - can see them reaching the Semis.

It's a young, hungry group of players who aren't going to be expected to progress too far, so the pressure should be less than in previous tournaments.

Ali and Dier have to start ahead of any other midfield combo, they've been the standout pairing for me all season.

I think Dier's partner in a midfield 2 will be decided in the friendlies. It's probably between Henderson and Wilshere but they've both been out of action for a while so hard to judge who'd be the better option.

I think an england team picked on form and fitness would do well. Wilshere? 1 start recently? Henderson?Came back yesterday? Why?

Rooney should go, but not guaranteed place. Alli, Dier/drinkwater should be starters.

Wilshire:

"The question I had to ask myself was basically: is he fit, actually fit to play? The answer is yes,” he said.

“Is he the type of player that could really help us as a starter or as a substitute because maybe he has different qualities to some of the others midfield players we’ve got? The answer was yes.

“The other question, how has he performed when we have been in competitive matches? Has he been a vital player for us, has he been a key player for us? Of course the answer to that was also a resounding yes because he was man of the match three matches in a row.

“The only question for Jack first of all to be selected in this group of players was are you actually fit? Are you actually able to show us where you are and what you can do?

“He has proved that and now he will have to prove to us in the two weeks or so I have before I have to name the final 23 that he is going to be 100 per cent capable of doing the job we know he can do when he is fit and able to play.”

I agree on Henderson, but whether Rooney is the captain or not, he's either been injured or well below average. He shouldn't go.

And lose his experience? He has a goal every other game for England and it would be mad not to take him. Who would you send instead?

If you're going on form, Defoe.

Defoe is a good shout, but ahead of vardy, kane and sturridge? I'd take defoe over rashford possibly. As for wilshere, hes fit now, but one knock and he's out for weeks again, spot wasted. I'd rather Rooney moved into midfield to take delphs spot maybe, he's terrible.

England fans being complete wankers abroad again then. No respect.

France going for it tonight looking at the line up. Giroud hat-trick surely.

Fuck off.

No mention of the Marseille ultras bottling fans, goading them etc? I hate violence but once again, reported as if we're the only nation with hooligans.

Great performance from England. Not perfect but again, another step up from before. The options we have available to change it up can really give us alot in our armoury. See this out then concentrate on stopping Bale.
