Download manager for a Lan

Hello Folks

Does any one know of a download manager that can used on a lan/wan with UNC paths. I have some users who are determined to download specific large files across the network and want them to have the ability to pause/resume or at very least schedule a copy of them.
Would prefer it to be in the contextual menu when they right click on the files.
It would be great if it was free but will pay if it ticks all the boxes.

Edit: Forgot to mention I have tried synctoy which is great for folders but I just need specific files. Robocopy seems a bit to advance for the user that wants to do this.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

It really is piss poor sadly. Trying to sort it out on a shoe string budget and users copying gigs of data across it during peak traffic hours isn't helping.

For free you can make sure that all adapters are autonegotiating properly, set them manually and experiment if not. Get some beefier file/copy management tools that let you see real speeds to test this. You can ensure that no cable runs are overly long, you can ensure that no cables run alongside mains power etc. Replace worn out cables/connectors/ends.

If it does come down to a new switch you can aim at the 150 mark and do pretty well with a linksys/cisco unmanaged 10/100/1000 switch.

Yeh slowly going through that lot but so many other bits to sort. I can get my hands on some Cisco 2950/60's so will be using them which will help to manage the whole system.

Hand me downs, but appreciated ones.

Just in case anyone else is searching for a similar programme I have found a couple that might do the trick.

Advanced Lan Pump (which just sounds wrong) looks very much like a web download manager except it is specifically designed for Lan's (costs about $40)

Terracopy can schedule and pause/resume copy's but its user interface is a little odd. (Free for home but cost for pro use 14)

Total copy is a very rough copy programme with a pause function but you need to right click drag files to a folder for it to appear in the context menu which is a bit muh as well. (free)

Still looking though if there are any other suggestions.
