Safety tweak is lawyers. They can't say that yet.
Autopilot will be an option, as it currently is. Default safety features should be standard.
Supercharging access will be interesting to see.

even if it costs for charging at motorway stations, I dont think that would be a problem, as long as they dont charge a premium. with 500k cars in US all wanting same charge points, I can see it being a huge issue there.

Tesla Model 3 shipping date put back to "mid 2018", not a surprise since Tesla seem to be the Valve of car makers.

That's for new reservations - i.e. those placed now as opposed to when they were first announced.

https://electrek.co/2016/10/18/tesla...tock-crashing/

Although UK buyers will be 2018 at earliest in any event, so bugger all difference.

Interestingly, there's supposed to be a new product announcement from Tesla tomorrow .

Emergency breaking eh? Glad that's been excluded.

Reg's typo.

In reality, the only that will really stop me buying one is the exchange rate.

That's actually a really smart way to generate the data you need to teach an AI to drive.

Yeah it's a fantastic piece of driving assistance - apparently the radar is bounced under the car immediately infront in order to track the vehicles ahead of it, hence why it can 'see' the car braking hard despite its view being blocked.

I keep wandering down to the Tesla "shop" in Leeds, hoping to see a Model 3 out on display in Victoria Quarter... maybe soon.

That's some crazy-ass acceleration - good to see it up against some "muscle" cars.

Oddly a 3 went past me on the M23 this morning. Spanking new one in Twat White.

No way that was a model 3. Surely an S? Barely any 3s in the US at the moment I'd be amazed if a RHD was already available in the UK.

Would love to be wrong!

Musk is targeting a production rate of 20,000 model 3 cars a month by December. So it's quite likely a few hundred have been shipped over the pond by now. Even just a handful of demos wouldn't be unreasonable.

Yeah it's just the LHD were first I heard and then UK followed rest of Europe. On that basis I thought it'd be much later before we see them over here but hope you're right.

It could be owners importing privately or via 3rd party too.

Deffo the new one. Yeah presumably demo/journo or something. Two blokes in so could have been an lhd. It didn't occur to me to look closer.

Likely to be 25k+ when they finally release the price? Seems an awful lot, particularly for 1st adopters who get to iron out all the bugs. I imagine my local mechanic would laugh in my face too if I asked him to service it. Nice idea but too many hurdles for me at the moment.

Are there still any Government rebates for electric cars? Might be a hit with the fleet purchasers too?

Yeah about 4.5k I think. Let's see if it's still available. I have a reservation for a M3 but looking at whatever the options and choices are in the final reveal later this month. Still don't expect it until late 2018 if I'm honest, but good to know they're in the UK already

I'm expecting them in late 2018. Have arranged my current PCP around it so that it ends thereabouts.

What's the charging network like near you? Or are you planning on the range covering your daily commute (and stealing electric from your employer? )?

Pretty hopeless. You can trickle charge from your house over night though, and my commute is only ~40 miles. Anything further would have to be routed via the motorway network

I presume tesla give you the option of fitting one of their chargers in your house if you get one of their cars.
