wireless bridge experience

hello!
just a quickie
my dad now has talktalk broadband...holy crap

they gave him a router with the passwords installed but no diagram of what to do with it.
also it looks like a picture frame...how very cunning...
anyway sorted it out for him, wireless wasn't even turned on ffs....
but the signal is pretty poor.

it's a hanwei device...so what's the chances of getting a wireless bridge to work with it?

I hear the belkin ones only work well with belkin routers.
should I just dump their router, get a modem router with decent antennae? or try a wireless bridge? if so..which ones work well?

Get the username and password, and treat him to a 40 replacement from Linksys or Netgear
