There are quite a few I could mention, but how about the £89,000 of a cash strapped council's money that was used to fight an employment case against the education department after he was sacked from a job at a Sefton school.

Another thing I hold against him is how he became mayor in the first place. Liverpool was promised a referendum on whether we had a city mayor, and right out the blue that was scrapped by Anderson as head of the council. He then stood as the Labour representative for mayor, knowing full well in such a Labour stronghold he would walk into the job. The sooner he is out of local politics the better.

The President of a country where three people are killed by gun per hour and seven people are shot every sixty minutes thinks the Paris violence needs to stop.

So basically it's on hearsay and personal opinion. Fairplay.

Personally, I think he's presided over a lot of positive change in Liverpool and acted in the best interests of the city on the balance. I also personally think putting political decisions to a referendum is an abdication of your duties as a political leader as you're invariably privy to more information than Joe Public and better positioned to make an appropriate judgement.

In my personal opinion, the public's fascination with referendums is dangerous and you should look no further then the Brexit result for proof of that.

I understand what you mean about the referendum, but he knew full well what he was doing, he was putting himself in a job, and fully respect you're opinion on him. I personally can't stand him.

Just out of interest, what positive changes do you think he's presided over?

With the triple-lock to potentially go as well. Given it was in their gift as to when to declare an election I'm slightly surprised all of this wasn't pinned down from the off.

Good grief:

Conservatives 50% (+4)
Lab 25% (NC)
Liberal Democrats 11% (NC)
UKIP 7% (-2)
SNP 4% (NC)
Green 3% (-1)
Other 1% (-1)

Biggest challenge for the Tories is pretending this is even vaguely competitive.

2000 is a decent sample size assuming they aren't polling just in rural Sussex.

Data were weighted to be demographically representative of all GB adults.

Good work extrapolating that.

Aye, I think I remember that one; televisual excrement.

Still, if they could rustle up the talent (does anyone still work with foam/latex puppets? ), I'd love to see it back, plenty of raw material for scripts out there...
