slight power concern

ok I am asuming it is power.

Abit AN8 SLi
X2 3600+ (i did put the voltages up one notch on cpu and ram in bios)
512mb 8800GT
2 gig of DDR 400 ram
USB external soundcard
USB headphones (sounds wierd but I like to have vent on one ear of the headphones and other sound coming through speakers)
I have also been using every other USB port 7 or 8 in total, gamepad, saitek joystick, keyboard, mouse, usb deck (not powered up for a while just plugged in) etc etc.

All powered by 600w enermax noisetaker

Sunday night and yesterday morning I got a blue screen. noticed when I was rolling my mousewheel that the lights where dimming on my saitek eclipse keyboard lol then BSOD.

today I powered up the PC and my monitor said no signal, and I noticed my keyboard and mouse had no power going to them.

I started unplugging usb's apart from keyboard and mouse and the PC booted up but I had a cmos checksum error and had to restore bios settings like turning off onboard sound etc (I replaced the cmos battery yesterday so the date was still in order)

I thought 600W would be plenty? or am I overdoing it with USB? I have left voltages default in bios anyway.
I'll be doing a new build soon for myself and formatting/cleaning up this one for my son.

reckon I'll need a new psu for this one for him? sound like this one is on the way out?

Wire the powersupply directly to the F1 key, then give it him the computer.

drink a load of lucozade and piss on it, the electrolytes should give the added boost to the system it needs

/only sully has the balls capable of pulling this off, your wee fleshy sack will no doubt fry

If the machine has been working fine for a while and just started doing this then I would assume the PSU is on the way out.

I have had lots of weird problems with dying psu's that I have wasted lots of time trying to figure out before either I give in and spend some money or it dies completely.

If possible swap your PSU out with a mates to double check.

Have a look next to the CMOS, the internal see-saw could be off-balance

Perhaps the fan is clogged up with undergrowth from all your camping, and it is causing your rig to overheat

It may be - but it only controls access to registry, system folders and network connections.

Could try going in the registry and manually deleting out anything you suspect is dodgy or just don't understand

Give it to your son as is, then when he complains that it doesn't work, scream in his face that it was working fine when you gave it to him and that he's going to pay for a new one out of his pocket money for the rest of his life!!!!!! Then go to the pub.

hmm, doesn't seem to be power. I rebuilt that pc adding a new PSU and formatted it and it was fine at first but after adding a few USB devices the problems have started again
reckon it's the mobo? or maybe it's windows 7 and the mobo? (abit An8 SLI 32x sckt 939)
it is misbehaving/freezing in bios too now, which is something i have never come across before.

If its not right in bios its pointing toward the mobo being on its way out
