Exchange Server - stopping DB dismount

I'm trying to run a bloody migration of Public Folders from an old server to a new one (as the old server is very low on space and the PF DB is huge).

Problem is the migration is aborting because the old server keeps dismounting the DB saying it's too big.

I've hacked the registry to increase the limit but it's still shutting the bloody thing down.

Any ideas if its possible to force Exchange server to ignore the DB size?

Google isn't revealing much yet.

Have you restarted the relevant services since changing the registry setting, I think at least the store service will need restarting.

think that was my fatal mistake - restarted the whole server just to be sure.

Migration still ticking along so fingers, legs and everything else crossed...

Migration finished despite the old server doing it's best to mess everything up. All seems ok.
