I was wondering how I'd posted in a thread I hadn't seen before. Moderator trickery.

Depending on how things go - AI could kill us all within the next 80 years anyway ( and that's not fanatical loonacy at work either - people are serious) - sure there was a link on here to a rather long but very interesting read on AI and where it "could" be heading.

On the lists of "could kill us all in 80 years", rogue AI has to lower even than nanotech goo (its been a while since a paper has recycled that one on a slow news day)

Estimating a replacement of around 40% of jobs over the next 20 years.

In terms of how well a computerized version would perform those jobs - at a fraction of the cost of employing us meat sacks, it doesn't have to be equal to what a human can do, it just needs to be good enough.

Remarkable that as a species we can be smart enough to invent and build robots yet dumb enough to not be able to think about their introduction and the increased productivity and leisure time that could be possible if we just got the fuck over it.

From what I read about that video, the company behind it has a history of remarkable robotic feats appearing on video. I doubt it's legit.

Yeah that videos blatantly bollocks unless there are company's who make a profit from employing a robot to safeguard a shelf of empty boxes
